Bio
My name is TJ Willson and I am a 20 year old producer and DJ from Jacksonville, Florida. I started producing music in elementary school and quickly developed an overwhelming passion for the hobby with the support of my best friend. I went on to attend Florida State University, though amidst my stay, decided to leave school altogether and focus on my music career. I am currently a local DJ in Jacksonville, and spend my free time away from the club scene producing music, creating graphic art, and writing. I aspire to tour the world someday, performing at music festivals and working with local communities to fight mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety.
But some people ask me, "Why electronic music?" The truth is, I'm a simple kid with a big dream: Change the way people perceive electronic music while telling my own story. I want people to see there is just as much beauty lying dormant in digitally orchestrated pieces than with any other form of music. The abstract timbre produced by a violin is no more conducive to bringing someone to tears than a mourning layer of synthesized chords. For this very reason, I've found a surreal satisfaction in producing electronic music. Describing all the pain and joy in my life through the combination of notes and rhythms, spinning an elaborate web of harmony and unspoken words. The most refreshing way for me to pour my heart into what I do is to simply forget "genres". I just make music that makes me happy. And all I can do, then, is hope that the very same emotion was felt by someone else and changed them for the better. It's possible to save lives this way, and anyone who tells you differently is living a lie. I want to hear people say, "You're the reason I didn't give up." Because everyone deserves to feel loved, and everyone deserves to feel like someone else understands. And sometimes the only way to do that is through the one universal language that exists, that is, music.
