Bio
Kansas City based alternative band The Township Project began in November of 2010. Members include vocalist/guitarist Noah Spencer, guitarist/keys/vocalist Brooks Brown, bassist Bryan Bailey, and drummer Chaney Butner. After a November school day, Spencer and Butner suggested to Bailey the idea of starting a band. After Bailey agreed with the idea they were soon connected with Brooks Brown, which marked the beginning of The Township Project. They were in middle school at the time, so the idea of forming the band was to have fun. Though, years later having fun was not the only idea. The Township Project stuck together even though they hailed from three different high schools. With years of practice they progressed and learned how to play off each other. They started as an all-cover band. Though, over time they began writing their own songs, which then inspired the idea of creating an album. They started playing live around the Kansas City area and soon gained local popularity. Their upbeat lyrics, creative guitar and bass melodies combined with distinct synthesizer easily defined it's own niche in music. In January 2014, The Township Project was contacted by Tequila Mockingbird Studios in Austin, Texas. In April 2014 they traveled to Austin where they recorded their first album "Our City". The album's songs describe the good times, love, and struggles of their high school lives. Their sound is new, combining fluid melodies with rhythmic synthesizer and crisp beats. It creates a feel good vibe, that is perceived more as a natural instinct rather than an external force.
