The Iron Heart is a hard hitting rock band from California with an energetic rhythm section and soaring guitars, delivering a signature sound that has been described as “the new rock n roll”. The band has just wrapped recording at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 with Producer Jason Carmer (Third Eye Blind, The Donnas, Run DMC). Salon Des Refuses, the bands first full length album will be released in 2015. They can draw nicely in such venues including The Uptown Theatre in Napa, Bottom of The Hill SF., and Uptown Nightclub in Oakland. They performed the first Bottle Rock Festival in Napa with The Black Keys and The Kings of Leon. Check out the track “The Only One“.

It’s a rare band that gets to play its first concert at a big music festival, but that’s just what local band The Iron Heart did at the first BottleRock in 2013.
“Someone dropped out at the last minute, and we stepped in,” said Justin Altamura, bassist of the rock trio.
“It was just a walk-on,” noted Altamura, but the reaction from the crowd encouraged the members of the band to keep going.
That included playing locally at City Winery and opening for George Thorogood and the Destroyers at the Uptown, in Oakland, San Francisco and Lost Angeles.
The members of The Iron Heart, Joel Fennie, Thomas Fine and Justin Altamura (grandson of Uptown owner George Altamura), had played together for years, but came together after a two-year hiatus in the new incarnation.
The Iron Heart’s original fortune was thanks to Micah Malan, a friend at BottleRock, but also because it had just made its first record and was circulating it everywhere it could.
The hard-hitting rock band takes to the fourth stage at BottleRock with up-and-coming local and other bands once again this year. They play Friday, May 29, at 3:15 p.m. They open for the Trims at an after-party at Silo’s on Saturday, May 30, starting at 10 p.m.
No labels fit
Singer and guitarist Thomas Fine is 34, bassist Altamura is 29 and drummer Joel Fennie is 32.
Fine is strongly influenced by the blues tradition while Altamura and Fennie played punk. They resist labeling, but it’s certainly hard-driving rock with an energetic rhythm section and soaring guitars combined with the rough blues lyrics.
They released their debut EP “V” in 2014, then embarked on an ambitious project called “Salon des Refuses” for their first full-length album. It will be released in EP format throughout 2015.
After a summer of touring, The Iron Heart was invited to record on the famous Sound City Neve console at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 with producer Jason Carmer. Their three-song album “Misophonia” will be released as the first of four “mini” albums that will make up the bands first full-length recording titled “Salon Des Refuses” with an expected release in late 2015.
“Misophonia” displays the power and overall heavy sound the band has developed and it is available on iTunes, Amazon and all major digital online retailers.
The second volume will be released in spring 2015.

The Festival is planned for May 2, 30, & 31st and you can get more details by visiting our post: BottleRock Napa 2015 announce lineup. We can’t wait to see them hit the stage at BottleRock after they completely blew us away with their performance at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma last year.
The Iron Heart is a powerful hard rock trio from Napa that melts influences of blues and even punk which is quite welcoming. They truly make a bold statement with their music and deliver an energetic hard rocking blues infused set. We can’t wait for everyone to check them out.
The Iron Heart is:
Thomas Fine – Vocals/Guitar
Justin Altamura – Bass
Joel Fennie – Drums
They have a great hard rock style and it is fueled with the passionate vocals of Thomas. His soulful unique voice really evokes a lot of emotion when he sings and you can’t help but feel a connection to the music. Justin has this sexy swagger when he plays and it is infectious as you find yourself moving around with the sultry basslines. Joel on drums brings out a great big bold sound and brings it all together with his precision drumming. To check out more photos from the show at the Phoenix visit: The Iron Heart at Phoenix Theater
Meanwhile, make sure to pick up your tickets for BottleRock which are set to go on sale this Thursday at 10 AM PST. They are going to definitely be one of our highlights at this year’s BottleRock and we look forward to bringing you full coverage.
The Iron Heart released their EP V last year and you can pick it up on iTunes here. Two of my favorite tracks on it are Woman and The Only One but then again, Back Door is smoking hot. Well, put it this way, pick it up and you will have 5 great tracks that will end up on your regular playlist. You can’ go wrong with them.
Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news. We will leave you with a couple videos from their set at the Phoenix.

The Iron Heart is a powerful hard rock trio from Napa that melts influences of blues and even punk which is quite welcoming. We caught them perform last Saturday at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma. They were the headlining set after BullyWest, Kingsborough and Bad Jones, and really made a bold statement with their music. All the bands were great that night and I hope you take the time to check them all out. The Iron Heart capped it all off with an energetic hard rocking blues infused set.

It has become customary for festivals to put their tickets on sale before a lineup is announced and expect fans to buy them based on the brand name. Festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland are able to do this because they deliver quality lineups each year, but for those who have not built up the cache with music fans, it is important to use a lineup announcement to drive ticket sales. California festival BottleRock has announced its full lineup with a big cast of acts that include headliners Robert Plant, Imagine Dragons, No Doubt, The Avett Brothers and Foster the People, with a diverse group of indie, folk, rock and hip-hop acts like Passion Pit, Public Enemy, Portugal. The Man, The Iron Heart — one of our 2015 artists to watch, Zella Day and more.
The festival takes place at the beginning of summer, between May 29 and 31, in the heart of Napa Valley to bring you all the finest local bottles one could desire.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Jan 8., at 10 a.m. PST.

Bio
With the release of their debut EP "V" in April of 2014, The Iron Heart are poised to make waves in the coming year. Coming off a year of playing all over California (including a main stage slot at Napa's BottleRock festival & opening up for George Thorogood & The Destroyers) and refining their style, The Iron Heart have put themselves on the map. In what has been described as "the new rock n roll" they mix a raunchy old-school blues with Nirvana-esque grunge. Being influenced by a vast array of styles & artists brings a modern take on classic blues & rock. Thomas Fine (vocals/guitar), Justin Altamura (bass), and Joel Fennie (drums) combine to deliver soulful, powerful rhythms and gritty ardent vocals that create their style.
Most recently, The Iron Heart was invited to record at Dave Grohl's (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) private Studio 606. The band will use this opportunity to begin recording of the first full length album. Recording is scheduled for October 2014 with an anticipated release date of April 2015.
