What makes this a memorable song, in addition to its internet association and Princely titling, is the jazzy vocal The ConSoulTant
provides. Instead of being just another vapid dance singer, The ConSoulTant really knows how to
sing, and proves it. She’s somebody we may all be Googling very soon. - Dan MacIntosh - Indie Music.com

The Consoultant wasn't always a singer. Oh no, The Consoultant (or Selita to her friends) was actually a software consultantbefore she decided to create her alter ego and pursue her dreams in music. With technology in the music industry becoming more and more digitally oriented and the fact that Selita knew a little something about computers it made her decision and transition into the music industry much easier. A lot of work, learning, and experiences later, she's about to put out her debut album, Spend the Night.
Spend the Night is a huge pop record from an artist that seems to fit just about every musical environment she's put in. Whether it's a house tune, soulful ballad, jazzy quiet storm sort of thing, pure pop, or modern rhythm and blues The Consoultant whips her voice into a note hitting frenzy that will just about give you goose bumps. For someone who has just recorded her debut album, she sounds like she's been doing this forever.
The Consoultant is particularly strong on some of the dancier numbers on Spend the Night and sounds as if there's an inner diva waiting to get out. She finds herself quite easily belting out high energy vocals especially on the title track which is a commercial house thumper. The hilariously titled, "Have You Googled Yourself 2Day," is another great high energy tune that shows she's got a great sense of humor about people's vanity in todays society.
While I'm not usually a fan of music this commercial, I found myself digging The Consoultant. Her versatility was a breath of fresh air and her ability to sing in just about any style thrown at her is truly remarkable. While I think she should stick to working on being a house diva, she's got the chops to do just about anything she wants. Spend the Night is an enjoyable listen and definitely worth spending at least some time with in not the entire...night.

The ConSoulTant: Have You Googled Yourself Today?
The AJC has a great story about new Atlanta singer Selita Boyd, better known by her stage name The ConSoulTant. They tell her story about her life long love affair with music, and how she had to put her dreams to become a singer on hold in order to sustain her family. She opened a recording studio called Top Knotch Recordings in Atlanta, but never was able to dedicated enough time to really getting her own music career off the ground with her hectic work schedule, but the studio saw talents from So So Def, Block Entertainment, and LaFace Records stop by for sessions.
Now, her family is repaying her help for the past several years and putting themselves behind her as she releases her debut CD Spend the Night, which is out today.
In terms of music, I like her sound. It’s good R&B and has a diverse tracklisting, with more smooth midtempos to uptempo dance songs. And the album’s single “Have You Googled Yourself Today?” is right up there in terms of bridging the gap with soul and today’s technology!
Hopefully we’ll be hearing more from her — we wish her the best of luck here at GFM. You can buy her CD on CDBaby, or sample more songs at ConSoulTant.com or MySpace.com/Consoultant.

Fans of dance music will gravitate towards this next album from the extremely talented artist known as The ConSoulTant. A former Miss Black Georgia first runner-up and Georgia Tech cheerleader, The ConSoulTant (Selita Boyd), is making a big splash with her debut album titled Spend the Night. The dance CD full of up-tempo catchy beats is perfectly fused with urban, pop, rock and jazz sounds. One of her best abilities is her strong songwriting skills that will simply blow you away.
One of the best tracks from the album is titled Have U Googled Yourself 2Day. What make this track especially fun are its funky beat, catchy lyrics, and strong vocals. Throughout the album, The ConSoulTant gives us one solid performance after the next.
Overall, the 1990's R&B Dance/Pop vibe that Spend the Night gives out is perfect for those dance music lovers.
I give Spend the Night a superstar A-
