The Tree House Charlatans is a musical ensemble based out of Gloucester, MA, originally arising from a guy with a didgeridoo, a tree house in the woods, and a strong desire to play music with friends... and so, the band was born. We play Didgeridoograss - the term we use to describe our particular and unique blend of traditional bluegrass, contemporary folk & rock, and a didgeridoo. The didge adds a distinct sound which acts as both a root key note for the particular song, as well as providing an interesting addition to the bass and rhythm. Add in the guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, a little kit or hand drum, washboard, and even some musical saw and voila! a sound all our own.
