The Redhill Valleys are taking the Canadian country music scene by storm and their multitude of shows during Indie Week introduced them to a lot of new fans. The band was named “Best Emerging Artist – National” at the Indie Week awards and we are quite confident that more accolades and awards will coming their way very soon. The Redhill Valleys returned to Boots & Hearts to play the Front Porch Stage on Friday afternoon, bringing their sweet sounds and voices with them.
The four-piece alt-country and roots-rock band from Hamilton, ON took their turn last summer in the Emerging Artist Showcase, turning heads and performing in the finals of the competition. And in 2018, they caught our attention again. Danielle, Tim, Chelsea, and Matt were tight, ready, and made the most of their time on stage. They rolled from song to song seamlessly and sounded fantastic every step of the way.
The Redhill Valleys set included songs like Ragged And Run Down, Burn It Down, and Either Or – all strong, and all while looking comfortable and confident on the Front Porch Stage.
The band is becoming more and more well known for their smooth harmonies, and with every show they play, they get better and better. And on Friday afternoon at Boots & Hearts, they were at the top of their game. Doing what they love, making music on stage, and smiling the whole way through.

The Redhill Valleys may not be a household name yet, but the Hamilton, Ontario-based trio are earning their reputation as talented entertainers with every song and show they play.
Danielle Beaudin, Tim Allard, and Chelsea McWilliams create a tight sound, merging their instruments to create the music that forms a backdrop for their harmonies – harmonies that are the backbone of the band and, from song to song, make us want more.
This summer, we were introduced to The Redhill Valleys as they competed in the Emerging Artist Showcase at Boots & Hearts. The band took to the main stage and performed for the crowds on Thursday and again in the finals, finishing second in the competition. In both performances, the band proved that they belonged, showing their ability to do live what they did on their self-titled 2016 album.
The 12 tracks on The Redhill Valleys’ debut album are a showcase of talent as well as a love for what Danielle, Tim, and Chelsea do as a group. And while they may be labeled as a Folk Rock Trio, their sound fits well with the rootsy country movement taking shape in the last few years.

The Spice Factory in Hamilton was host to the album release of The Redhill Valleys on Tuesday, and it was completely sold out. There was a buzz of excitement among everyone in attendance, merch and cd’s were flying off of the table before any music even began. The trio of Danielle Beaudin, Chelsea McWilliams and Tim Allard have been polishing their sound for a little while now in the Hamilton/Toronto area and have gathered a lot of interest and anticipation towards their first album release. Well, the wait is over.
Opening the night, on a masterfully lit stage (a photographers dream) were the Mississippi Bends. A gritty, southern rock band with a heavy swampy sound. Mary Simon and Andrew Aldridge set the tone and rocked the room.
The Redhill Valleys now taking the stage, began with When You’re Gone. A beautifully slow, dark, almost european sounding song. Then jumping into Lay Me Down, more upbeat and a solid country tune. Describing The Redhill Valleys sound, I think of some hybrid between Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young. They definitely have their own sound though that they seem very comfortable and confident in. You can really get lost in the music. I could see this album on repeat in the car all summer, daydreaming on a road trip, winding down at a cottage, or needing something to get you energized. They really cover it all.
Tim leads the vocals while drumming on a couple songs, like Ragged And Run Down to add to the depth of the bands talents and variety. Stand out songs are hard to mention, but I would go with Either Or, Parry Sound, Burn It Down and Wrong Way Turns Out Right.
There are no gimmicks with The Redhill Valleys, its just very well written, performed, produced songs. Their sound is classic and timeless. Some songs you could easily plop into the charts forty years ago and it wouldn’t seem out of place. I have had Wrong Way Turns Out Right in my head ever since the show, which must be the sign of a great song. The vocals, pedal steel (played this evening by Kevin Neal) and overall vibe will just melt away the world around you.
The Redhill Valleys will be all over the music scene this summer. The day of their release, they were listed alongside acts like Johnny Reid, Autumn Hill, Jan Arden and many more for Harvest Picnic. They’ll also be at the Burlington Sound Of Music with Jess Moskaluke, Mother Mother, I Mother Earth and well, way too many to name. The point is, this is just the beginning and it’s time to fall in love with The Redhill Valleys. - Soundcheck Entertainment

The Redhill Valleys are a four piece band based out of Hamilton, Ontario. This past summer, they were named runners-up at the 2017 Boots and Hearts Emerging Artists Showcase and have since gained a lot of traction and fans in the Canadian Country music scene. They were chosen as the CMAO Artist of the Month in October 2017 and are working independently towards connecting with more music fans across the province. This coming November they will also be performing as finalists in the 2017 Canada's Walk of Fame Emerging Artists Program.
The Redhill Valleys area emerging onto the local music scene since fall of 2014. Rooted by their influences in Country, Americana and Rock, the newly formed trio are forging a musical path all their own. The collaboration of guitarists Danielle Beaudin, Tim Allard and bassist Chelsea McWilliams includes a powerful devotion to songwriting, unifying the poetic ease of their lyrics with unforgettable melodies, harmonies and guitar riffs.
