"The Montvales-Ain't it Time to Learn"

Brilliant band The Montvales has shared their delightful debut album “Heartbreak Summer Camp.”

The track “Ain't it Time to Learn” showcases a vulnerable side of the duo’s music. It’s a song about a broken heart and painful experience that sounds very genuine and relatable. The banjo and guitar lines slowly glide together, creating breathtaking sonic waves, while the gorgeous vocals tell the story. With this wonderful work, The Montvales proves to be one of the most charming new bands. - Tonic Grain

"Taste Test: The Montvales Twist Wonder and Homesickness on 'Oh Louise'"

Some of us have such a deep aching in our chests it nearly rips us apart. And that pang entices us to bound away across county and state lines, hitting up the open road for some solace and piece of mind. Whatever that might be, we follow a muse. Eventually, we may even wander back into those barriers that once felt suffocating. Folk duo The Montvales express their own journey, tangled lines and various trajectories they’ve trekked through the years, in and out of Knoxville. “It’s a big ole world / Oh, but we’ll work with what we got,” the pair sing, voices intertwined. It’s both imprinted with longing and pleasure in knowing they’ve done all they could to live a life worth living. - B-Sides and Badlands

"NEW MUSIC: The Montvales-Oh Louise"

There’s something to be said for simplicity in songwriting and The Montvales, a duo from Knoxville, Tennessee, have captured the essence of melody and feel on their new bluegrass/folk single ‘Oh Louise‘. The catchiness comes from their sweet vocal interplay and banjo playing that provides the rhythm, swing and highly hummable melodies. - Post to Wire

The Montvales' debut album Heartbreak Summercamp came out in the spring of 2020 and is available for streaming everywhere.

Sally Buice and Molly Rochelson of The Montvales cut their teeth busking on the streets of their hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee and playing short sets on various programs of their local Americana radio station, WDVX. Currently located in Cincinnati, Ohio, they spend their days crafting stripped down, banjo-and-harmony driven songs that strike just the right balance between catchy and lonesome.  Their shows will take you to places both raucous and reverent, equal parts honky tonk mischief and earnest meditation on friendship, heartbreak, and place. Their debut album, Heartbreak Summer Camp, is available for streaming everywhere now.
