“The Jayplayers is your all around American band. Their release of the single “Smiling Back At Me” defines what happy and delightful country music is. The great melodies and the flawlessly executed instrumental playing calls for a new fan! One of my favorite characteristics about “Smiling Back At Me” are the blended two-toned vocals infused by vocalists Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul. ... There’s something about ‘The Jayplayers where you can’t help but to be in love with the genre as a whole. It’s the at home, proud to be alive, proud to be an American feeling they give. Check it out for yourself and see if you smile back at the single that musically smiled at us!” - Buzz Music
"The Jayplayers, hailing from Hershey, Pennsylvania, performed a glittery blend of Americana and Country. Wonderful performance, warm souls." - Sofar Sounds Washington DC
"Then the band continued on with their last few songs from Glitter & Wine. While they played "Run To Me", I couldn't shake the comparison of Keeley's voice to Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries, who is personally one of my favorite artists." - Alexandra Healey
"Aside from the newfound energy in the full band, The Jayplayers are still a vocal group driven by strong songwriting and harmonies. They have a very comfortable chemistry on stage and a growing loyal fan base. The Jayplayers are currently preparing a follow up EP to their 2016 release of Glitter & Wine. They are a true working band with a constant presence in the greater Philadelphia / Wilmington music scene." - Dan Williams
Though people often associate Appalachia with states further south, that region’s rich folk music traditions are alive and well in Pennsylvania. Rural farming and mining communities sprout musicians as fast as they do crops, and Doc Watson’s had plenty of them last Friday night. Lebanon’s The Jayplayers were the first to take the stage. Made up of singer-songwriters Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul, who joined forces in 2013, they blend traditional and contemporary folk sounds alternately reminiscent of Johnny & June and The Civil Wars. A brief set of originals and covers showcased their beautifully blended harmonies, accompanied only by Weidensaul’s acoustic guitar for an intimate sound perfectly suited to the few patrons as they trickled in from the snowy night. - Dave Fox
“The Jayplayers, Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul presented their wonderfully authentic roots, folk, Americana tunes during last night's Gable Singer/Songwriter Showcase at World Cafe Live. Simple, loving and at time delicate and quiet originals in the style of classic folk. Beautiful work.” - Dan Williams
"We ultimately hope to see WITF Music become an extensive collection of music and the stories behind it. We also see it as a way to make connections with regional musicians and their fans, establish future partnerships and reach out to a younger demographic. And overall it's a way to highlight and share the inspiring music that's happening in Central PA and beyond. Look for...Hershey-based The Jayplayers in the months ahead." - Joe Ulrich
"Every so often, WITF invites musicians to perform and be interviewed; these multimedia pieces become the cornerstone of WITF Music...The Jayplayers, of Hershey, stopped by the studio to perform and discuss their Americana/Roots Rock act, based around the songwriting of Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul." - Fig Lancaster
"Up next an Americana/Roots Rock band, with well, roots, right here in the midstate. Last time they visited it was just the duo, today they brought the entire band. The Jayplayers join us for a studio session, here they are with their song Drifter's Blues." - Amy Kehm
"Lebanon based folk duo The Jayplayers, with vocalist Keeley McCue, right, and guitarist Chris Weidensaul, perform at the Battlefield Brew Works in Gettysburg during the Gettysburg Rocks music festival Saturday Feb. 7, 2015." - Shane Dunlap

Bio
Our first rehearsals were in a local park; something of singing outside, in summertime, for no one in particular, that speaks to the natural ease of our collective relationship with music” – remarks The Jayplayers, of their formation in 2013 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Their songwriting is unassumingly authentic, derived from a shared, somewhat unconscious viewpoint. It seems their process was one in the same – to not really have a process; to write without intention, merely recording song ideas as they overcame their minds. “Our songs are most simply commenting on the human condition; words and music in harmony, made to strike a chord in the hearts of many.”
The award winning Americana/Roots Rock act, based around the songwriting of Keeley McCue and Chris Weidensaul, has developed from an acoustic duo into a full electric band set up as well. This has resulted in their debut LP, Glitter & Wine (2016) and sophomore EP, The Jayplayers: Little Bit Country (2018), which was recorded in the renowned MilkBoy Studios in Philadelphia. Furthermore, they have just released their highly anticipated single, I Still Love You, in January 2020 across all digital platforms worldwide (iTunes, Spotify etc.).
Over the past six years, not only has their collection of songs grown into multiple records, but they have also gained great notoriety for their hundreds of live performances. Most recently, they debuted at such nationally recognized festivals as the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Kutztown Folk Festival, and MusikFest, as well as, received the 2018 PHLlive Center Stage Country/Folk music award from the Philadelphia City Council. You will surely be hearing even more from The Jayplayers soon - so stay tuned!
