"Great live show from a group of very talented musicians. A mix of Rock and Blues performed with the sensibility and energy of Punk" Commenting on 6 Great Local Bands." - Mark Rodgers (93.7 WSTW) - Out and About Magazine
“While zombie popularity is at an all-time high and vampires are essentially and afterthought – except if you’re a fan of the “Twilight” series – The Hold-Up will remind Rock Circus patrons that vampires need a little love, too. The band will perform “Vampire Blues,” a song about despair told “from a vampire’s perspective,” said guitarist Devin Zito of Wilmington. The Hold-Up, which draws influence from ‘50s and ‘60s rock-n-roll, blues and punk music, will also perform their song “Sharon Stone,” loosely based on the actress’ film “Basic Instinct.” “We bring a lot of energy and classic rock appeal that not, too, many bands are doing right now,” said Hold-Up front man Jason Webb of Wilmington. “Our music is like Johnny Cash meets the Ramones, with a little splash surf rock.” - Community Pub
“The Hold-Up have become one of my favorite Delaware bands, not least of all because they work zombies into their songs a lot. And, you know, Delaware and zombies go together — Slaughter Beach was practically a character in “Survival of the Dead.” It wasn’t actually filmed there, but we’ll take what we can get. When I first heard “Hallowed Ground,” with its “RISE UP!” chorus, my mind filled with images of the undead — and I was pleased to later learn that not only was that an accurate interpretation, but they’d also made a Romero-esque video for it. ” - Undead- News

Bio
What originally began as a rock duo that spurred from an underground art gallery in the city of Wilmington known as "The Spot" in 2009, has now transformed into what is now known as the bluesy rock 5 piece band called The Hold-Up.
Since meeting at an open mic night in 2009 Vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist, Jason Webb and Lead Guitarist, Devin Zito have taken The Hold-Up leaps and bounds gaining recognition in several local publications, over 5 statewide competitions, and airplay on both fm and internet platforms.
These bluesy rockers have gained a reputation not only for strong musical compositions but a high energy performance that brings a kind of irresistible raw energy to any audience. Taking strong influence from a background in rock, roots americana and blues, set against indissoluble lyrical imagery, The Hold-Up is a performance you wont miss in a line-up.
