Bio
Inspired by the avalanche of great pop music that has come from Britain (and its Commonwealth) since The Beatles, and American music in the same vein, The Dawdlers are a melodic pop band focused on the British Pop genre started during the British Invasion.
The genre includes The Beatles, the Rock & New Wave of the 70's & 80's by artists like Elton John, Bad Company, Badfinger, and Peter Gabriel, then Squeeze, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, The Police & Sting, Split Enz & Crowded House, Paul Young, INXS, and more recently enhanced by bands like Oasis, Coldplay and Keane.
The Dawdlers play covers and occasional original music in this realm, including songs by British Invader forebears Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Dave Clark Five, as well as many complementary songs by American artists like Cheap Trick, Marshall Crenshaw, Kacey Musgraves, Los Lobos, Boston, The Stray Cats, Shawn Colvin, Boston, Guster, The Monkees, Andrew Gold and other non-American artists such as The Pretenders & Amy Winehouse.
The Dawdlers sing and play all instruments live and do not use any pre-recorded or sequenced backing tracks.
