Bio
The Caw was formed in Port Neches, TX, in 2008 with Cody Guidry on bass, Steven Baque on drums, and Justice Lloyd on guitar and vocals. Musical inspirations were drawn from the great and early rock bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Doors, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Black Sabbath. Later influences included 90's and modern groups like Nirvana, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chevelle, Toadies, Kings of Leon, Broken Bells, and Gorillaz. After an unexpected passing of Cody in 2010, Mikey Poirier then learned and took over the bass for the band. Blake Guerra also joined as the keyboard/synthesizer player during 2011. The Caw has performed in Southeast Texas (Beaumont/Houston/Galveston) and Southwest Louisana (Lake Charles/New Orleans). In 2012, The Caw released a 5-track, self-titled EP (The Caw EP ) to the public. Currently organizing a collection of songs to be recorded early 2015 at The Womb Studio in Austin, TX, The Caw members are focused on writing new material and booking shows in new cities to reach a wider audience.
