Bio
Jacori Dontavious Tay Robinson, (born March 18th, 1995) is a East Texas native musician. Though he grew up in Tyler, TX, he briefly lived in Los Angeles, CA. He recieved his first pair of drum sticks at age 3 from his uncle, and played drums in church for fun up until age 7 to focus on basketball. He claims that he grew up in a musical household, where you could wake up listening to Kirk Franklin and go to sleep listening to Motley Crue in the same day. Because of that, he found himself in the local hardcore scene skateboarding and attending concerts of local bands enhancing his taste for music even farther. At age 15, he picked up the drums again and immediately started playing in local hardcore and metal bands, even being apart of the House of Blues sponsored Next Big Thing Tour with his then band SecondLife. At 17, he started studying jazz drumming with local teachers Ben Davis and Montreal Sanders and landed a gig with a local church (Peoples Missionary Baptist Church,) which had televised services. In 2013, he was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music being awarded the Berklee World Tour scholarship. That summer of that same year he recorded a live cd/dvd with the GMWA Texas Youth Mass Choir. Hes recently studied with Mark Walker and Tony Thunder Smith.
