Slowly but surely, Tara Terra has been taking Champaign-Urbana's vibrant music scene by storm. The six-piece band of college students in Central Illinois couples powerful three-part harmonies with an indie-rock slant, producing music that fits into multiple genres effortlessly. In the new year, the band plans to solidify their follow-up to their 2014 album Daughter, and in doing so, showcase a sound that is always evolving and innovating.
Tara Terra's live calendar has been filling up recently, including a headlining show for the Pygmalion Show Series at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, opening slots for a variety of acts, including The Soil and the Sun, Sidewalk Chalk, Sun Stereo, Elsinore, The Kickback and Santah to name a few, and an East Coast tour to top it all off. Just recently, the band was announced in the first round of performers for the 2015 Pygmalion Music Festival.
