Student and teacher musicians at Cactus Shadows invest their spare time in bands that perform in churches, pubs, and other establishments all around Cave Creek and Phoenix. Two student bands include Sunlaand and Grand Entrance. Both bands consist of at least one Cactus Shadows student.

The band Sunlaand, which was created almost a year ago, plays skate punk music and is comprised of three students; two of whom are Cactus Shadows students. Michael Chmura, bass player and vocalist, has been playing bass for 6 years.

"I started mainly because my brother was playing bass at the time so I was like, I'll start with him," said Chmura. Sunlaand plays at many venues such as coffee shops and record stores and has an audience ranging from 10-100 people." - CSPress

Reasons To Attend: So both this show and the house show that Phantom Party is playing Saturday have oddly ghoulish flier’s that would be sensible around Halloween. It turns out off season they seem more unsettling than anything else. Regardless of the aesthetics, this show is freaking amazing.
