SUNKEN VESSELS

John Park, the man behind SUNKEN VESSELS, is a solo indie rock musician from Los Angeles, California. Though a strong advocate and devotee of rock music, he cites his Jazz upbringing as his fundamental influence in his approach to songwriting and composition. Having played in a few bands over the years, it wasn’t until the summer of 2013 that he decided to pursue the solo path. 

Though it can be difficult to tag a specific label to the SV sound, its basically an eclectic mix of rock sub-genres crafted by forging Lo-Fi soundscapes against progressive melodic textures through guitar loops, sampled drum beats, and heavy doses of distortion and effects. Needless to say, its a different kind of rock experience. And despite being a literal solo artist, or a “one-man band,” this hasn’t stopped him from performing at such venues as Good Hurt, The Mint, Whisky A Go Go, House of Blues, Molly Malone’s, and Room 5.

SUNKEN VESSELS released his first EP "swallow the sun" on January 2015 via SoundCloud and Bandcamp. All tracks were recorded live using an iPhone 5. He is currently working on a new EP to be released in January 2016.
