Strings Beyond Description hails from Northwest Indiana. Bluegrass is the heart & soul of our sound which includes traditional Bluegrass & Newgrass. Legends like Old and in the Way, Bill Monroe & John Hartford.. More current fellas like Billy Strings & Jeff Austin. Since 2016 we have graced stages & festivals across the Midwest all the while recording our original music with a love for Bluegrass.
The Grateful Dead is equally a foundation of our sound. Jerry Garcia picked the banjo with the likes of Peter Rowan, Dave "Dawg" Grisman, Tony Rice, Vassar Clements and many many more. This is a common path for us.. The Music of Old and in the Way.. We draw influences from this music and you can hear this in our original compositions.
