“A thoughtful songwriter of sometimes poignant and other times delightfully light-hearted songs, Steve Raiken is a highly gifted acoustic guitar player whose fingers, as I’ve previously mentioned, can weave a mesmerizing spell on audiences.” - Gary 17, Publisher, Toronto Moon Magazine, December 1, 2015
"Steve is a very skilled acoustic guitarist. His slide version of 'Amazing Grace' brings the house down every time. The cinematic feel of the instrumental 'Muskoka Morning' highlights his strength as a guitarist." - Deirdre Mallahe, Editor, Musically Yours Magazine, Winter 2014
"You've got such a clear voice.... I want to listen to it forever." - Deirdre Mallahe, Haze FM, Mississauga, Ontario, September 4, 2011
"Unbelievable. Folks, you heard that. Steve Raiken: one artist, one acoustic guitar and one microphone." - Kris Kadwell, Canoe FM, Haliburton, Ontario, September 23, 2010

Bio
My music and guitar playing has been influenced by many musicians and styles over the years. I receive great audience response, especially for my songwriting and acoustic guitar playing. My slide guitar version of Amazing Grace has been viewed over 81,000 times and counting on YouTube; see the link on this page. There's also a link to an original slide guitar tune on YouTube.
I began perfoming professionally in the late 1960's with Marc Cashman as part of a folk duo, Cashman & Raiken. Marc and I performed in the Eastern U.S. and Canada as featured performers and as a lead-in for major acts such as Tom Rush, Hall & Oates, George Carlin and Alex Taylor.
