"Exclusive Interview with Steady Tek-Nick"

Slam Entertainment Caught Up with Steady Tek-Nick, an Audio Engineer and HipHop recording artist From Haiti. Checkout what He has to say in His Interview Below:

Slam Ent: What is your name? Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Steady Tek-Nick: Hi, I’m Steady Tek-Nick (government Nick A. Israel), a young Haitian audio engineer and HipHop recording artist. Since a young age, I was always an avid reader, hungry for more knowledge and eager to journey into imaginary worlds. So when I turned 13 and moved to a remote house in the mountains, I had nothing left but books and music to keep me company. My loneliness gave rise to a need for attention so I begin to scribble rhymes and song structures to express my anger and passion.

Slam Ent: How did you come up with your Stage name?

Steady Tek-Nick: While I was watching 8 Mile the first time with my brother, I started kicking a ill freestyle off the top throughout the end credits. Amazed by my lyrical impress, he responded “Damn bro, you got splendid techniques” and I instantly made a wordplay of my name, TekNick, “…spit it with steady TekNicks”.The rest is history.

Slam Ent: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?

Steady Tek-Nick: Truthfully, anywhere, especially with the improvements in technology I can write on my phone while walking in the streets, riding my bike, on the train, at work, on a plane, in my room, on the crapper, in the cemetery, at the beach. The art is spontaneous, so I tend to jot my ideas down somewhere or memorize anything that crosses my mind.

Slam Ent: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Steady Tek-Nick: Most definitely, I’m remodeling a spacious basement now in Brooklyn with an investor for a real nice project studio. And as far as my bedroom setup, I’m hoping to upgrade to some Genelecs (tired of the Presonus), an Apollo 8 (although I like my Blue Robbie running through the K Audio 6) and a Manley Reference by the summer (my Sputnike is nice and the c414 as well as my se2200a do wonders on any type of popular music). I also work with a Maschine, Mini/UltraNova, Motif FX6, Sub Phatty, HS7s, Sm57/58, 3 guitars, 2 amps, Electribe, Xr20, Minibrute, PT11, Logic, Bitwig and maaad plugins.

Slam Ent: Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Steady Tek-Nick: I’m delivering my debut EP, Gawd On Fleek on June the 7th so you guys can expect the single and video next month as well as many more freestyles and poetry to hype up the project. I will be presenting it with a collection of poems entitled” The 4th Wall”. The intro is out now and available on Youtube “Through The Flying Doors”. Go check it out and share with your kinfolks.

Slam Ent: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

Steady Tek-Nick: I have my young 11 year old protege, Zaza’s EP that I’m wrapping up as well under Out There and a new artist which I’m not revealing yet who has his mixtape completed, just tying up some loose ends. 2016 is a celebration for me and all my fans so I will deliver all sorts of goodies and many more music to quench their thirst. - Slam Entertainment

"Steady Tek-Nick: “Thru The Flying Door” – a great explosion of spoken-word poetry!"

Nick Antony Israel, also known as Steady Tek-Nick (alias Ti Granmoun Lan) is a young Haitian Hip-Hop prodigy who developed an interest for writing raps and audio engineering at an early age. In a country where any musical career choice is considered taboo, he wasted no time in applying his newly found skills to create songs and express his rebellious thoughts.

Steady Tek-Nick offers listeners a socially-conscious, honest, musically mature and lyrically transcendent collection of songs. Though his music can be primarily defined as Hip-Hop, and to be sure there are some great hip-hop tracks in his catalog, what is found on his latest single, “Thru The Flying Door” can more accurately be defined as ‘spoken-word poetry accompanied by music.’ Fans of Steady Tek-Nick’s style and performance will not be disappointed. Furthermore, varying musical influences lift this track above the confines of a strictly hip-hop recording.

It is this pushing of boundaries that makes it accessible even to those listeners whose main musical interest lies outside of hip-hop, while still carrying the standard of the best of what hip-hop has to offer, and has yet to fully embrace in some cases. Steady Tek-Nick is poignant in his observations, poetic in his presentation, and thorough in his outlook.

He sees the world through eyes that recognize not only the symptoms but also the afflictions, and a mind that is inquisitive enough to see the solutions and the possibility of something better. He refuses the notion that accepting the current and apparent state of our being is living up to true human potential.

Whether or not you like his peculiar style, Steady Tek-Nick has something valuable to offer, either musically or lyrically. “Thru The Flying Door” is a great explosion of creative energy, and many listeners will certainly be able to relate to this moving and memorable piece.

It is introspective, it is confessional and it sounds like a process of finally coming to terms with one’s appearance, one’s self and more importantly one’s self-responsibilities. The lyrics are powerful and should be heard by those impressionable youths who usually look to materialistic moguls or defeatist gangsters as surrogate role-models. Finally, in Steady Tek-Nick, they may have an artist worth listening to. - Jamsphere

"Steady Tek-Nick "Dear Momma""

"Half-apology, half-shout-out – Steady Tek-Nick is venting it all out with a fierce venom in his voice that clearly indicates just how much passion he’s putting into this message to his mom, Nicole B. Israel..."

"Steady Tek-Nick -- Blazing His Own Trail"

"The lyrical flow is quite unique drawing in the listener to see where the song will go next. This is music to make you feel something and that is exactly what Steady Tek-Nick does here."

"HAITIAN RAPPER @STEADYTEKNICK IS CROSSING OVER"

Haitian Rapper Steady Tek-Nick is ready to take the music industry by storm!

For the past 8 years, Haitian rapper/producer Steady Tek-Nick has made New York City his residence in order to follow his dream of becoming the first Haitian Rapper to cross over into mainstream media.

Nick Antony Israel, also known as Steady Tek-Nick (alias Ti Granmoun Lan) is not new to music! Originally from Haiti, the young Hip-Hop prodigy was steadily exposed to music through diverse aspects—especially live band music.

As a kid, he developed a great affinity for melodies and the different arrangement of sounds which prompted him to delve more into this intriguing art form. However, in the 1990s as Hip Hop was taking over as the most influential music genre, Steady Tek-Nick slowly got pulled into this maelstrom of Rap and its revolutionary platform. It gave the artist freedom of expression, which is exactly what Steady was seeking as a way to exhale all the steamy passion and anger that fueled him. Ever since, he has been a rebellious artist who is willing to challenge even himself in order to contribute to society on a developmental level.

Although Hip Hop had stamped his presence in the music world firmly, it was not yet truly accepted as an art form in Haiti in the late 1990s and early 2000s—mainly not in Kreyòl, the native language. Therefore, Tek-Nick knew that the only way he can truly make an effect is to challenge himself by not competing in the Haitian market and going to the center of rap —which is New York City—to excel in order to solidify his roots with the intent of revolutionizing the entire musical movement in Haiti.
