"Shifta Promotes "Do You Wanna""

FLORIDA-BASED singjay Shifta feels he has the ultimate summer dance song and he's currently in the island promoting it.

Produced on the Timeless label, the track Do You Wanna features Che'nelle, a Malaysian- Australian recording artiste. It is slated for a July release date. However, copies of the single will be distributed to sound systems and radio stations.

"I'm glad to be starting my campaign in Jamaica which is very important because it's where the roots of dancehall music lives and as we all know, Jamaica is one of the hardest places to get people's attention, so if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere," Shifta told the Jamaica Observer.

The promotion blitz ends with a party at Club Privilege on Friday, June 27.

Shifta, given name Tomrad Mason, was born in St Andrew. He migrated to the United States in the 90s, but never lost his zest to do music.

"I'm not in the music industry for popularity. I'm here because I genuinely enjoy giving people Timeless music and, most importantly, I want to make a positive influence in the world," said the artiste, who is in his late 20s.

Shifta got his break in 2005 with the track Ganja Shop. It was an adaptation of 50 Cent's Candy Shop. He has since released Hungover featuring Lil Wayne and Live It Up and Do It, a collab effort with Flo-Rida.

"With a combination of good music, strategic alliance and staying true to my roots should do it for me," he said. - Jamaica Observer

Still working on that hot first release.

A dynamic talent laced with a unique style, magnetic presence and rich cultural background, Shifta is an artist that cannot go unnoticed. Widely recognized and rated internationally for his lyrical versatility, intoxicating charisma, electrifying music videos and explosive performances, he has, for the last couple years, taken the music industry by storm.

Shiftas inherent musical talent revealed itself at a very young age. Shiftas father, Daddy Fras aka Piper of Piper Records, gave some of Jamaicas most prevalent names, Reggie Stepper and Lady Saw, their first record cuts. With this vast exposure to these many great talents, Shifta gravitated to the local reggae/dancehall scene, continuing his love affair with the genre when he migrated to Miami. Shiftas passion for music led him to begin writing and recording music with local producers and artists. His relentless pursuit attracted the attention of not only the grassroots dancehall cult following but the general market as well. While his outstanding leadership skills spawned the "Fras Krew", a group of individuals working together to create a portfolio of razor sharp talent with innovative business expertise.

Shifta has performed in numerous concerts and television programs throughout the United States and the Caribbean, while also touring in Europe, Asia, South America & Africa, where he has been eagerly embraced by thousands of fervent music lovers.

Shifta has a large online and international fan base. His channel has close to 6 million views. His popular hit "Live it Up" has been featured on MTV.COM, HYPETV and many other radio and internet outlets nationwide. Shifta took WSHH.COM one of the nations leading new music and entertainment websites by storm with the premier of his two videos "Live It Up" and "Feeling Nice" receiving over 5 million views in a matter of days. Shifta has a loyal fan base that continues to grow everyday not only online but worldwide.
