Shawn Smoothe

Shawn Smoothe is currently making his rap debut on the Toronto scene. The local independent artist has performed at 20+ shows including well known venues such as The Virgin Mod Club, El Mocambo, Revival, WrongBar etc., he also released his debut project/mixtape "It Just Came To ME" in October. Coming off of a successful 2014, his speculation for 2015 is just the same with his second project in mind. The mixtape has been getting good reviews from listeners who would best describe his music saying: “Shawn uses a mixture of rap with melodic flows to create a sound where everything is smooth and delivered in a way that makes you want to hear more because you can either really relate or simply appreciate the music.” Shawn actually follows a motto much similar to how fans would describe his sound: Everything Smoothe. As a genuine but optimistic individual Shawn wants everything to go smooth from situations he deals with on a day to day basis to his business and personal relationships with people. Another motto that really inspires Shawn is from Kevin Gates; one of his favorite artists in the industry:  I Don’t Get Tired. Shawn describes song writing, performing and making music as the freedom to express a passion. “Music and writing has always been a passion of mine and through it I really try to connect with and motivate people to do more than just have dreams but to turn those dreams into reality.” He discovered his talent for writing through poetry as a mode of expression and a method to cope with life’s troubles. Then started working on collaborative projects over the years but stepped away from committing to his passion for rapping to study business. Now Shawn’s making up for lost time, drawing his inspiration from personal experiences and family role models. With a series of mix-tapes scheduled for release, he looks forward to representing his city on a global scale. Smoothe has a lot to say, it’s up to you to listen.
