Shadow and the Mountain

Shadow and the Mountain is made of four life long friends who obviously enjoy to play music together. Brought together in spring of 2014, Shadow quickly wrote and released their demo album "Cinemas of Reef and Coral".

Shadow and the Mountain is currently living in the Tulsa area, and have played everywhere from The Vanguard (formerly known as the Marquee) to small house shows for their close friends.

Lead singer and guitarist Andrew Davis grew up with lead guitarist Neil Sparks. Both boys were inspired by the same things, so they left their life of sports behind and picked up a guitar together. Shadow started with Andrew Davis and drummer Thomas Young jamming in the extra bedroom in Andrew's house. As time went on and they found the sound that they liked, they realized that just the two of them couldn't make the music they wanted to by themselves, which led to Neil Sparks picking up his guitar and officially joining the band. After going through what seemed like bassist after bassist, DaCoda Buchner decided to pick up a bass for the first time to learn the music that Shadow had been writing. Two weeks after DaCoda had started playing bass, Shadow and the Mountain was officially complete. The boys decided to begin to record "Cinemas of Reef and Coral" in the summer of 2014. After 3 weeks with a crappy MacBook and a single $100 dollar condenser mic, Shadow and the Mountain was finished with their debut album (sounds more like a demo) Cinemas of Reef and Coral.

Lately, the members of Shadow and the Mountain are recording new material and playing every show they can get their hands on.

Shadow and the Mountain will be releasing new, professionally recorded music by mid April of 2015.
