Bio
Seven Cake Candy is a musical vision. Clever costuming, soaring vocals, heartfelt lyrics and ass shaking beats. A party band with some sick tunes. Try NOT to shake it to "The Low Snap" or "Pure Filth". You can't do it. These tracks make you want to move. Seven Cake Candy started out as a dream by lead singer Justin Whomever. An apocalyptic dream with a killer soundtrack, the name was brought back out of his subconscious and became the backbone for this project. Adding Tammy Whynot on the Tabernacle, Mari Lane on keyboards and Tanya Tuckit shaking her tambourine and other parts, and you have a recipe for a good and glittery time.
Seven Cake Candy really jelled from the wreckage of Mattachine Social. After Mattachine closed up shop, Justin and Tammy focused on a new direction. As performers, Justin Whomever and Tammy Whynot have shared the stage with many other progressive and daring acts. Goddess and She, Cazwell, Andy Bell of Erasure, Christine W, Moving Units, Amanda LePore, and Imperial Teen, just to name a few. Their rare brand of talent, glamour, comedy and heart earned them Best New EP in 2013 from Just Out magazine. As Mattachine Social they were the headliners of Portland's Pride celebration many years in a row, and headlined The Queer Music Festival as well, in addition to playing it every year.
Seven Cake Candy have played Seattle Pridefest, , were the headlining band for The First Ever Astoria, Oregon Pride Celebration, and have been gigging and producing music videos regularly, and are looking to finish up an EP in the summer.
