Bio
When most people think of Fresno, CA they think farmland, small town mentality…and while this may be true, our city has been known to cultivate much more than agriculture and individuals who live inside a preconceived box. The arts are as alive and well in the central valley as the agriculture.
As a child, he split his time between Fresno and Iran. While the Iranian revolution happened before he was born, it played a significant role in the artist he is today. The revolution is what drove his family to America, the love of their heritage and culture is what keeps them going back.
The dichotomy that embodies him is realized through his visual art and his music. As a visual artist, you can see the magical realism within which his mind dwells. As an artist/producer you can feel the angst of not knowing where he belonged in songs such as “NO?” and “If I Had A GUN!” The magical realism depicted in Sahab’s visual art comes to life through songs such as “Dastaneh Leyli O Majnun” and “Running” with the mixture of light happiness and inner turmoil, which collide to encircle stormy skies.
As you continue on this journey of exploration and magical realism with him you will see that his presence is unmistakable. His personality, sense of humor and intense passion balance a person who is, at his worst, genuine.
He is Sahab, and he welcomes you on this journey.
