Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

No one comes away from a RootBottle show without humming a tune in their heads from the night before.  Rodney, Andy, Jon and Hersh have been able to put together a high energy rock sound that is dripping with funk influences.  A sound that is contagious to all.

The story of Root Bottle began in 2013 with two friends combining their different musical stylings.  Rodney and Andy both realized that their styles of music were very complementary.  They were also interested in working on an original project.  Taking music from their individual portfolios, they fused together their different influences to form something unique and distinct.   Jon’s timely drums came along and filled in the missing piece of a high energy rock band.

Rock, Funk, Blues, Soul, all the styles of music we listened to reveal themselves in what you will hear at a RootBottle concert. From the rocky edge of “Hey Dad”,  to the pop/gospel anthem “Find a way”, to the funk laced sound of “HeadBob”,  we  always try to go where the music takes us, but in the end it all comes together to form that distinct sound.

RootBottle would like to entertain their fans with music that makes them dance.  If you are shaking your head and singing along then we have done our jobs.  We would like to share the joy that we feel when we create and play our music.

Songwriting is a big part of our music.  It’s very powerful not only when a song has good chords and melodies but also when the lyrics tell a story or takes you to a place that has some meaning and importance to one of us.  Our lyrics are tied into our everyday lives, events and  relationships.  That connection gives the songs life and a meaning that just comes through every time we perform.  “Hey Dad” is a perfect example of the attention paid to this aspect of their song writing.
