Rock band Restrayned boasts a heavy dose of melodic old school metal with a hint of the new style. With Kiss, Dokken, Whitnesnake, and Black Label Society as just some of their influences, one listen to the band’s music will whisk you back to the mid 1980s when big voices (and hair) were king.
Restrayned has only been together for a couple of years, yet the group is comprised of seasoned musicians who have performed alongside members of mega-metal bands such as Testament and Slayer.
The band’s melodic vocals coupled with their hard-edged sound will be a welcomed change for those of you who have been longing for the return of that classic metal sound. “Right now we’re currently writing and doing as many gigs as we can,” said Tony Musallam, lead vocalist for Restrayned. “We’re concentrating on doing shows with bands from the Bay Area and Reno; bringing them to the Sacramento area and performing in their hometowns as well,” he said.
The fan base of Restrayned is quickly growing due to their ongoing concerts in the area. Musallam mentioned that the band’s first two shows at the Boardwalk in Orangevale really gained them the attention of many, sparking the band to make merchandise available for their fans - like T-shirts, CDs and coffee mugs. - Elk Grove Citizen
