We're all about the blues, so we bring music that's pure heartbreak. But then we throw in just enough gospel (and libation) to carry your weary spirit back to JUBILATION! We love to play the classics, but we're also going to treat you to a sampling of our own originals. Tunes range from belly-rubbing slow grinds, to tried and true
shuffles, to foot stomping dance numbers. Sexy
as moonlight and hotter than fever, the influence of SOUL colors every song. The vocal palette extends from buttery to
weathered. Splashes of sax and organ top
off our unique sound, and our rhythm section can't be beat. Our Blues influences include Albert Collins, Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Dinah Washington, and Koko Taylor, just to name a few.
Rendezvous and the Hookups won the Lowcountry Blues Challenge, and we sent to represent the Charleston, SC area at the 2015 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Our personnel include Rhonda Vuletich on sax, Bill Nance on keys and vocals, and Kat Keturah on vocals.
