"Misa had the singer-songwriter background and Tim brought the old-time and blues feel that creates a unique mix that I haven’t heard emulated by anyone else. It’s best described as down-home country with a twist that keeps your foot tapping the whole time. You don’t hear country-type music with some guitar distortion or shredding on a banjo every often." - Katie Collins, The Radical
"There is no denying the talent that overflows as soon as Redleg Husky hits the stage." - Jacquilyn Lavalle, High Country Press
“...The group consistently delivers folk rock songs that easily cover the themes of love, heartbreak, faith and enjoying the slower life. All in all, Carolina is a pleasure to listen to, and effortlessly transports the listener to a thriving, rural part of America.” - Claudia Morello, The Aquarian
“Carolina is an album of exceptional beauty... It's more like a painting from the Hudson River School: thoughtfully composed, but earthy and a little messy. It's honest, restrained in the right places, and joyfully exuberant everywhere else.” - Rachel Cholst, Adobe and Teardrops
"The starkness of only acoustic instruments allows the vocals to shine and make you take notice of the wonderfully creative lyrics. The song "Autumn Heart" fits in perfectly to the Americana folk movement lead by The Avett Brothers and The Lumineers. The band has fun with the highly contagious chorus of "You Threw Me Away," but also have you hanging on their every word in "Wishing Well." - James Pasinski, JP's Music Blog
“The strength of their songwriting echoes through the songs on their new album, ‘Carolina’, and each one tells a tale that lives in today just as well as reflecting yesterday. ‘Carolina’ is Redleg Husky’s first full-length studio album, and the result is one of those roots recordings that you feel right at home with the second it opens. Clearly on a journey to see where their music takes them Redleg Husky are happy to work in the tradition and equally unafraid to innovate. All you have to do is listen to songs like ‘Carolina Diamonds’, the rocking ‘To Much of Me’, and the soul of ‘Farewell’ – alternating voices on rich lead vocals, spot on harmonies, infectious hooks, melodies to touch your heart and the mournful echo of musical saw. And if ‘Your Medicine’ and ‘Autumn Heart’ don’t reach you, someone throw your heart out with the trash.” - Tom Franks, FolkWords
“On their new album 'Carolina', Redleg Husky of Boone, NC, brings a slice of appalachian americana. By turns feel good and melancholy, this album swings and slumps (in a good way) like heartfelt folk music should.” - The Modern Folk Music of America
“Western North Carolina band Redleg Husky is a breath of fresh air... Combining the eclectic musical backgrounds of Misa Giroux, Tim McWilliams, and David Funderburk, Redleg Husky is sure to have a spark of something you've already been listening to within the layers of these songs. Plus, we all need some boot stompin' tunes in our lives - you can't deny that.” - Emily Fromm, NeverBeenHeard
