Reconcile's aggressive street rap sound might not scream Christian Hip-Hop right away, but a close reading of the lyrics will give you some perspective on why the rapper has a lot of buzz within the scene. His latest release, "Plottin," is proof that a religious message can still be delivered in a style that's as hard as anything coming out of Atlanta and Chicago right now.

Being a fisher of men is a little more intense than in Sunday School where Christian artist Reconcile comes from.

Born Ronald Stephen Lillard, Jr., Reconcile has been an artist looking to inspire change in the youth culture through Christian hip hop. His type of Christian Hip Hop may not seem so "Christian" to the much older audience. Although it is positive, it is raw... very raw! He raps about what he sees, gangs, drugs, violence, poverty, police brutality...and the list goes on. His message is that there is a way out - JESUS!!! Following Jesus isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to do. As Reconcile says in the music video, “I never told you it was gonna be easy”. In his song called "Catching Bodies," he uses the graphic "illustration" of a carjacking and a robbery at gunpoint to explain the modern day version of saving souls. - Fox 4 News

Reconcile is back with his newest single, “Begged Forgiveness.” The BoX-produced track features Reconcile at as his best as he raps about the tough points in his life and overcoming.

HipHopDX Premiere: After having a conversation about what the term “woke” means, Reconcile and Lecrae decided to posse up for a song and subsequent video on the subject. Aptly titled “Woke,” the new visual uses powerful imagery to depict the struggles Black people have had to endure in America.

“You have the power to invoke change in the narrative of our country,” the Miami artist said in a press release. “For the power of a young African-American man, you have the power to change the stereotype.”

Taken from his upcoming Streets Don’t Love You mixtape, the song serves as his call-to-action. While he’s typically characterized as a Christian Hip Hop artist, more street-oriented tracks like “Woke” are helping to debunk the traditional views of the community.

“I can’t ignore or mute my experiences in America to appease anyone, I answer to God,” he said. “Too often our faith is confined to the walls of the church and we ignore the convictions God has given us. There are great injustices and pain throughout America and God has given me a voice to speak life into that.”
