Bio
Frontman, sideman, renaissance man, solo artist and session ace, Randy Casey did his first professional gig at age fifteen, and that was a long time ago. He’s been writing, recording, covering, performing and producing music ever since.
Randy cut his teeth touring with the Minneapolis indie band PJ & the Terrorists
(yeah, quite the band name) .The band canvassed the US a multitude
of times playing many now legendary night clubs including CBGB in New
York. While in L.A. they shot a music video on Venice beach with film
maker Jeff Butcher (Jeff works for Woody Allen) for the song,
"Impressions of L.A." which received air play on MTV's "Basement Tapes"
program.
Randy has performed and/or recorded and/or toured with Shannon Curfman {Arista},
Peter Himmelman {Epic},Billy McLaughlin {Narada} to name but a few.
He has shared stages with Meat Loaf, Eddie Money, Robert Cray,
Melissa Etheridge, Buddy Guy, John Mellencamp, Jimmie Vaughn, Wilco,
10,000 Maniacs, North Mississippi All-Stars, Paul Westerberg, Freddy
Fender, and countless others.
Casey has also produced many commercial projects for readily
identifiable clients like Target Corp., H & R Block, Levi's, Mattel,
Pep Boys, Vidal Sassoon etc.
Multiple tracks from his Say No More album have been used as sound
beds on Minnesota Public Radio and National Public Radio's "All Things
Considered”. In addition to scoring the children’s television program
“The Choo-Choo Bob Show” Randy has also produced the music score for
several independent film releases including “Polly’s Global Walk”, a
film about the first woman to successfully walk around the world,
{www.pollysglobalwalk.com}. Several cuts from his "Late Bloomer" album
were licensed by Fox Television for the DVD release of "The Fall Guy"
starring Lee Majors.
In 2003 Randy was nominated by the Minnesota Music Academy for "Best Guitarist."
Casey and his wife {a native of Seattle} recently relocated to the Seattle area from Minneapolis, Minnesota where the guitarist grew up.
Currently, Randy is working on multiple album projects, performing solo and fronting
The east side band Root Seller.
