Prominence

Prominence
(aka: Prom) is an aspiring hip-hop artist from Northern Virginia.
Raised by his mother, Prom began rapping at eight years old. He
continued to hone his craft through the years, yet found the rest of
his world very empty. Drugs and conflict were commonplace as he searched
for something to fill the void in his heart. At 18 years of age, Prom
had an encounter with the law that would forever change him. He took the
opportunity to look deep inside himself, realized he wanted a better
life, and gave himself to Christ. 
Liberty
University was Prom’s next home, where he earned his degree in 2012.
During that time he also married his high school sweetheart, Angela, and
they were blessed with two beautiful boys over the next several years.
Eventually they desired to move back to the NoVA area for better
employment opportunities, but with the inflated cost of living there
they faced a difficult decision; after prayerful consideration, they
agreed to leave their children in the care of Angela’s parents until
they could establish a financially stable home. 
Their
time apart lasted longer than expected and it was difficult to
understand God’s plan. After three painful years of separation, with
both Prom and Angela often working multiple jobs to save up money, they
were able to bring their kids home. Shortly afterwards, Angela’s father
passed away. This event helped Prom realize that even though the
separation was hard for him, they were priceless memories for his
in-laws and children that would never be possible again. God’s perfect
plan.
Prom
lives in NoVA with his wife and two sons, and they’ve also added a
daughter to their crew. He is passionate about sharing God’s love and
desires to bridge the gap between Christ and the lost.
