Outrageous Fun = Vivian Girls + No Age + Times New Viking
Trustfund DIY moves through the greater lo-fi genre, reminding me of a new group with every song, but always holding an upbeat quality I’d associate with Marvelous Darlings. The album opens with “Town Like This,” which could be Matt Whitehurst of Psychedelic Horseshit singing over Cloud Nothings’ first album. The track “Rock n’ Roll,” perhaps my favorite, opens with a distorted twang I’d expect from The Strange Boys. Then, “Montreal,” played on a relatively clean, reverberated guitar with half-spoken vocals that sound like they’re coming from across an empty hall, vocally resembles Evangelicals. I want to say Outrageous Fun needs to normalize their sound to create a cohesive album, but I also want each song to stay the same. –Steve Richardson - Slug Magazine
For a band, playing tightly requires dedication, precision and practice. Playing sloppy—and sounding good while doing it—well, that’s more of an art form.
I’m not here to insinuate that Marietta garage-punk trio Outrageous Fun have even begun to master that rarefied ability, but on “Rock n’ Roll,” the lead single from their recently released debut, Trustfund DIY, the band does play with the sort of feverish intensity and who-gives-a-fuck attitude that are requisite traits for good ol’ sloppy punk rock. Vocalist/guitarist Sam Hellmann is more of a belter that he is a singer, and his strained exhortations help lend greater urgency to the group’s sneering rush. Is it artful? Unlikely. Is it outrageous? Not particularly. Is it fun? Fuck yeah. - Latest Disgrace

Bio
Outrageous Fun is an up and probably going no where band from outside Atlanta, Ga. Comprised of three Marxist rock n roll fans searching for a way to seem tough, Outrageous Fun started by playing rowdy shows in friends' basements. Since then Outrageous Fun has released two EPs and played shows with the likes of Atlanta's Mood Rings and 90s punk icon Blake Schwarzenbach. The band is due to tour and release a full length album in the coming months.
