New $chool came together in a pretty unique way. Nate and Zach each attended the University of Utah in 2009 and happened to be staying on the same floor in the dorms. The two decided to begin making music after Nate walked past Zach's dorm room while he was writing music. The music was good as the years went by, but everything changed when Nate's younger brother Josh began attending the University of Utah in 2011. The group went from 2 members to 3 and the music took off. Josh began producing all of the group's beats, and the transition was similar to going from college to the professional game. The new energy was amazing!
February 17, 2012 saw New $chool performing in their first live show at the University of Utah's Battle of the Bands. Coming in second place wasn't the goal, however interest from one of "The Killers" former managers after the performance made the show a success. The group played shows through August of 2012, then took a long break to focus on their first album "Class Act". The release of the album has New $chool ready to hit the road and perform in shows bigger than they ever have.
The trio has made over 50 songs in the years that have followed. The release of "Class Act" is the group's first full album. 'Forever', 'On & On', and 'Can U Feel It' are some of their fans' favorite songs off the album.
Nate is the singer of the group and goes by "D.O". His ability to come up with hooks that stick in your head after only one listen is remarkable. Consistent delivery and a spectacular voice are some of Nate's strongest traits. It's apparent in every New $chool song.
Zach goes by "Z Money" and brings a unique rapping style unlike anything currently out there. His writing ability combined with his sound gives him the ability to show his versatility by recording to any kind of beat. Zach delivers a hip-hop feel to each of New $chool's songs, regardless of the song's genre of music.
Josh goes by "Johnny Nova" and is the the heart of New $chool because of his abilities as a producer. Listen to any New $chool song and you'll see there isn't any kind of beat that he is unable to make. His ability to hop on a track and lay down incredible rap/singing verses and hooks puts his talent over the edge.
