New Kind of Talk is an electric jazz quintet consisting of 5 jazz musicians
from the Lehigh Valley. Their music has been described as a fusion of jazz, funk, rock and latin…. but in reality it’s simply music that is a lot of fun to listen to, whether you’re a jazz fan or not.
The lineup includes Bill Washer on guitar, Mike Trach on saxes and flute,
Drummer Wayne “Paco” Maura and Dave Libecap on keyboards. Jim McGee is bassist and composer/arranger.
The band just released a new CD called “Songs Out of Character” which is a tribute to some colorful characters….real and fictitious!
McGee says “It’s always been my intention to play jazz music that can communicate to people who are not necessarily jazz fans. There is a lot of joy in creating this material and in communicating it.”
