"The Break Presents: The Pro Letarians"

Name: The Proletarians, a duo which consists of J.O. (producer) and Jupiter Jim (emcee)
Age: We’re both 20.
Where we’re from:
Jupiter Jim: Hammond, Indiana
J.O: Fort Wayne, Indiana
We’ve been rapping since:
Jupiter Jim: I have been rapping since I was ten years old. I started a group at church with some of my friends, and that helped me hone my skills.
J.O.:I have been producing since I was a sophomore in high school. I started out first playing the piano and other live instruments, which evolved into me producing. I was shown Fruity Loops from a friend and took it from there.
Our style has been compared to:
Jupiter Jim: People have compared me to a young Kanye West or Lupe in regards to their sound early in their careers.
J.O:A lot people say I have vintage Kanye West in my production with the high pitched and soulful samples I use as. I also get compared to Chiddy Bang a lot due to being in a duo. There ares also some comparisons to Just blaze as well with some of my sample choices.
Our standout records/moments to date have been: We had the chance to open for Cyhi The Prince which was a great learning experience. Fans also like our tracks “Sleepless Dreamers,” “Church,” and “The Adventure.”
We’re going to change the game by: Changing the standard. I feel like that should be every rapper or producers goal which is to change the standard of how people approach the music. A lot of people get by on bad music. I think what makes Kanye special is that everytime he makes a track, he tries to change the standard of what good music is. We want to make music and change the standard of who gets posted and the quality of a product in regards to getting heard.
We’d like to work with: Lauryn Hill would be dope. Chance The Rapper would be cool, The Cool Kids would be awesome as well. Working with Schoolboy Q would be a challenge as well, but a lot of fun.
Our goal in hip-hop is:
Jupiter Jim: To last. I would rather be like a Ludacris and stay at certain respectable level in the game than be really hot for a moment and be gone in a couple months.
J.O.: To continue to raise the bar with my production and challenge myself and others.
We’re going to be the next: Jupiter Jim and J.O.

"JUPITER ANNOUNCES PRO LETARIANS SPLIT; RELEASES NEW MUSIC"

Yup, you read that correctly — Chicago/Indiana duo The Pro Letarians have decided to part ways and pursue solo careers. This news definitely comes as a shock but we wish Jupiter and JO the best of luck.
Midwestern duo The Pro Letarians have decided to go their separate ways. The group toured throughout the summer of 2013 off the strength of 2 full length free albums, Hello Forever and Not All of Me Shall Die. Rapper Jupiter and producer JO both intend to pursue individual careers.
In light of this announcement, mc Jupiter releases his debut solo track, “You Know.” “You Know” was recorded during month long couch surfing stint this summer in Los Angeles. DK on the beat. - Fake Shore Drive

Bio

In his recent song “The Intro,” N8:08 proclaims “I’m not back, I’m new,” hinting that he has
bigger accomplishments ahead of him than behind. Previously famous as Jupiter of the popular
college duo The Pro Letarians, N8:08 was near lock for XXL Freshman honors before abruptly
splitting off of the duo to the disdain of hundreds of thousands who enjoyed his refreshing sound
and flows. Combined, his two projects with The Pro Letarians garnered millions of plays and
earned him prominent spots on two US tours with stops from Las Vegas to New York.

Two years later, N8:08 reemerged with a raw project and new management. Look What You’ve
Done has already eclipsed 50,000 plays in just over a month since release without a cent of his
marketing budget spent. Music critics have unanimously praised the project, which has been
consistently lauded by the biggest hiphop website in the Midwest, FakeShoreDrive. N8:08’s
Chicago support extends beyond blogs, with cosigns from artists such as Chance the Rapper
and Kami of Leather Corduroys, both of whom follow N8:08’s moves in person and on Twitter.

The stunning music video for “Long Nite,” the lead single off of Look What You’ve Done, has
already eclipsed 70,000 plays in less than a month. This success has caught the attention of the
few major hiphop blogs that had yet to cover N8:08’s return, and the music video for “Zombies”
is set to be simultaneously released on both nearly all of the top blogs (including but not limited
to DJ Booth, Fashionably Early, FakeShoreDrive, University Hype, and GoodMusicAllDay) and
N8:08’s soon to be unveiled website.

This momentum will build into the summer, just in time for the release of the yet to be
announced summer EP which has potential features lined up with buzzing artists across genres
currently including King Los, YGTut, and Louis the Child.

While N8:08 is currently enjoying his performances in Chicago, we are looking to bring him out
to LA to gain exposure here, as he currently has a strong enough buzz in the Midwest.
Conveniently, California is the second biggest fanbase for N8:08, trailing only his home state.
