MVDHOUSE are a recent discovery that arrived not a moment too soon. The Scarborough collective’s new video landed in my inbox a few days ago, and I was hooked from the first play. “Temp Me” is a hard-hitting, tough-as-nails banger, delivered with equal parts tenacity and playfulness. Lead off rapper Kristen sets the tone with a blistering verse, followed by a hook and a smooth 16 from 22-year-old emcee Rekast. Yasmine, a member of No Squad In The Wild and artistic collective 88 Days Of Fortune, closes things out strong, making one thing abundantly clear: the talent coming out of Scarborough is no joke.
"The inspiration came from finding yourself in certain situations, like at a party, where other people are killing the vibe,” MVDHOUSE told Complex over email. “You're constantly trying to keep from getting heated, like, ‘Don’t tempt me.’”

Toronto independent label MVDHOUSE releases their newest single, “Temp Me” performed by Rekast, Yasmine & Kristen and produced by Ric and Thadeus. The meaning of the song derives from the concept of keeping your composure while someone is bringing negative energy your way. MVDHOUSE explains, “The inspiration came from being in certain situations–like at a party, where other people are killing the vibe and you’re constantly telling yourself, ‘Don’t tempt me.’” With that being said, anyone who has ever been in this predicament will definitely be able to connect with this outspoken and candid song. - BOI1DA
