Bio
Scarface, Erykah Badu, and Beyonce all have two aspects in common: 1. all are stars in the Music Industry, and 2. All hail from the Lone Star State, Texas that is. Allow me introduce Mr. YBR(Young Billy Ross) as you prepare yourself to add another name to that list. He hails from East Texas, Longview to be exact, a part of Texas unfamiliar to most people outside of the state. A place commonly referred to as the 903 rests between Dallas, TX and Shreveport, LA. Mr. YBR has been influenced by many Genres of music from variety of artists, but none more than the greatest MC of all time, the late Tupac Shakur, and what he calls "The greatest R&B group ever" New Edition. Early in his career he was labeled the R&B rapper as a result of his love of using R&B tracks as opposed to the more traditional tracks being used by most mc's at the time. With a sharp tongue, quick wit, and country twang, Mr. YBR punishes tracks with his laid back almost hypnotic delivery. Acknowledging the lack of respect shown the East Texas area, he has taken a more aggressive approach to Hip Hop in East Texas, "Before Scarface put Houston on the map, before Nelly put St. Louis on the map, before No limit and Cash Money put New Orleans on the map, nobody cared what went on in those cities as far as music was concerned.” Instead of waiting on someone to say they came here and put us on the map, we're going to do it ourselves. Not only Longview, but Tyler, Marshall, Texarkana, Palestine, Sulphur Springs, Paris, and the surrounding areas are ready to make their mark. With production he claims will rival the best which features the sounds of Kaoss Beats, Legacy Music Group, and P@.Hix, the sky is the limit for this budding star, so I’d advise you to jump on the train before it leaves the station.
