Bio
As Michael Feldman of NPR's "Whadya Know?" said when Mr. O performed on the show, "You guys are The Beatles with Nashville harmonies. Very cool..."
Mr. Opporknockity is based out of Springfield, IL and has been entertaining their fans for over twenty years. "Mr. O" as their fans call them, showcase a unique instrumental mix of traditional rock with heavy doses of world percussion, harmonica, accordion, and Nashville harmonies done in the Mr. O style.
Mr. O has four album releases: "B.Y.O.D" their first self-produced CD featuring the radio hit "Lisa's Shirt." "A Discouraging Word" was Mr. O's first full length release gaining the band serious regional attention on the major club and college circuit. A year later, Mr. Opporknockity teamed with WILCO engineer, Jonathon Pines to produce "Mr. O: With Nuts!" exploring the bands musicality with songs like "Havana" which hit #1 on the mp3.com Acoustic charts for multiple weeks. Pines and the boys hooked up one last time to release "The Greatest O on Earth," a lush production showing off the bands maturity, while keeping with the tongue-in-cheek-hookiness that kept Mr. O on the road performing in the Midwest's premier music venues.
A Mr. O show is a one of a kind experience for the listening audience. The band is known for their crowd interaction, improv medleys and ad-lib raps. The Mr. O community spreads throughout the Midwest with loyal fans that keep coming and coming. New fans are drawn in right away by the pop sensible tunes that you seem to have heard 100 times, but are a complete breath of fresh air.
Mr. Opporknockity is celebrating their 20th years of satisfying their fans. Be a part of this special tour.
