PD: How would you describe yourself or your band as an artist?
MH: We basically describe ourselves as “progressive metal.” We take a lot of influences and smash them together to make our own sound.
PD: Can you tell us briefly about your background – i.e. where you’re from, how you came to make music, etc.
MH: Briefly is funny! Nothing brief about it, but let’s just say it’s meant to be. We’re just a group of guys trying to get our voices heard and reach as many fans as we can.
PD: Who and what inspires you to make music, both in terms of musical and other influences? What do you like to write about in your songs?
MH: We all have our own tastes in what we listen to. We take a lot of those things that grab us and put them into our music and try to relate to everyone we can.
PD: What are your aspirations as an artist?
MH: We’d love to be able to have the resources to be able to focus on writing music full time.
PD: What is the proudest moment in your music career so far?
MH: Probably releasing “Paradigm” and getting a bunch of attention from it and having it played on radio stations and reviewed by publications and webzines worldwide.
PD: Promoting one’s music is such a challenge these days, especially with so many new artists emerging from bedrooms in the day of the home studio. How is that going?
MH: All we can do as a band is put out our best work and try to have it appeal to the masses. Everyone is a rockstar these days and that’s great but putting out quality music should count for something.
PD: And how do you book and promote your live shows and tours? Any performances coming up?
MH: We just hit up any places we can around the area and try to get them to put us on a bill. We have a couple of guys that get our gigs, so you never know what you’re going to get! We are trying to play as much as we can, as of this interview we have:
8/5/22 – Dingbatz – Clifton, NJ
9-17-22 – Electric City Music Conference – Scranton, PA
10-8-22 – Elephant Talk Indie Music Awards – The Watering Hole – Mays Landing, NJ
11-20-22 – The Bitter End – New York, New York
12-16-22 – The Fire – Philadelphia, PA
PD: What do you think about downloading music online? What about streaming sites like Spotify?
MH: There are right and wrong ways for everything, and it seems that there’s still some work to do for musician equality. With everyone doing their own thing and not being represented (costs money) or protecting their musical rights (costs money) it’s difficult to keep track of everything that’s out there.
PD: What song do you wish you’d written and why?
MH: Freebird! Everyone is always shouting out for bands to play that song! It’d be nice to be attached to a song like that.
PD: Is there anything you don’t like about the music industry, which you would change if you could?
MH: There’s pros and cons to everything. It all depends on the intentions of the parties involved and if they’re being honest with each other to the benefit of each other’s interests.
PD: So, what are you working on at the moment?
MH: Ideas for our next single from our forthcoming album Mental Truancy. And promoting the album release coming out September 23rd.
PD: Where can we learn more about you and buy your music/merch online?

"Philadelphia, PA-based metallers Mindless Hope are set to launch their new album entitled “Mental Truancy” on September 23th. Teaming up with Prog Sphere, the band is premiering the first single off of the upcoming release. Watch a video for “Paradigm” below.
Speaking about “Paradigm” guitarist Matt Grosse says: “‘Paradigm’ addresses our own self-importance. Social media has given everyone a voice and those voices have grown into a movement where every opinion counts and is valid. But what happens when those opinions differ? That’s the direction we see our society heading. A collection of factions who think their opinions are valid and everyone else’s aren’t.”
About the upcoming album Grosse comments: “This album tackles many different aspects of the human condition. We span the gamut from depression to sexual addiction. It’s basically a ride through one’s mental state from any given set of circumstances they may find themselves in.”
Mindless Hope‘s near-future plans evolve around the promotion of the upcoming album “Mental Truancy.”
“We’re looking to play wherever and whenever we can and continue to write our own brand of progressive metal! Massive shoutout to Prog Sphere for giving us this opportunity to showcase what we’ve been up to throughout the pandemic,” Grosse concludes.

We think the defining message of this album is that everyone goes through stuff. We all go through something. Everyone responds differently to those experiences, and some may persevere, and others may succumb. The point is, we all individually go through this emotional rollercoaster of life and may respond differently to similar situations, but we all collectively should be able to have the empathy to relate to each other’s individual experiences. - Screamer

The discovery of the day, coming from Jamendo , it's named Mindless Hope . Lovers of soft music, go your way, because it is rock that sends heavy!
The Speechless mini album is a mix of several musical styles. Musically, there are riffs, rhythmic breaks, and arrangements that come straight out of progressive rock, while vocally, a grunt voice and a more melodic voice make passes in all the titles.
Originally from USA, the band has two albums - Verbatim, an instrumental album, and Unlocking a New Realm of Existence - and a mini album - Speechless - all available on Jamendo under a Creative Commons license.

As Mindless Hope continues to prepare for the Fall release of their next album "Unlocking A New Realm of Existence" the band's live set is being perfected. Their latest live assault took place Saturday night at Whiskey Tango in Philadelphia, PA.
Mindless Hope performed for roughly 45 minutes, playing songs from their album "Verbatim" (including the songs "Trepidation" and "The Hornet's Revenge") showing the crowd the complexity of their music. With two vocalists and three guitarists the band blends solid harmonies and dynamic riffs with the drums and bass that bolster each song. The band ended their set with an almost 8 minute bludgeoning titled "War Wagon", one of the songs from their upcoming release. The progressive metal band MINDLESS HOPE is preparing for the release of their new full length audio experience “Unlocking A New Realm of Existence” this Fall.
Forming just outside of Philadelphia, PA, MINDLESS HOPE creates music that reaches back to classic progressive rock with a metal edge that’s riveting and melodic featuring powerful vocals and strong instrumental grooves. Each song allows the listener to feel the emotion in the music and conclude on a personal level what it all means.
MINDLESS HOPE has been given life through the complete immersion of seven dedicated musicians. Beginning in 2009 lead guitarist and founding member Matt Grosse spent four plus years writing material for the band’s first self-released album. After writing, rehearsing, and playing the music live their debut album “Verbatim” was launched in May 2013. MINDLESS HOPE at that time was an instrumental progressive metal band. The “Verbatim” lineup was short lived and Grosse went back to the drawing board.
In order to fully execute his next vision, Grosse brought in two vocalists (Mark David and David Elliott III) and two more guitarists (Peter Roland Romero, Jr. and Rob Covello) in addition to new drummer Travis Ebner and new bassist Roger Haff. “Unlocking A New Realm of Existence” brings to reality what Grosse had envisioned...expressive music deeply rooted in the power of metal with lyrics that evoke internal thought.
MINDLESS HOPE will soon release their first single “War Wagon” and a video play through. A video introducing the song can be viewed below. - John Doan - Musicfrenzy.net

"Our final band on this show, Mindless Hope, is the band we taped at Pasquale's the night we met Howard Durann and his Bucks County Open Mic. Don't think you'll see any better guitar work than this talented band!" - Inside Music Today
“MINDLESS HOPE stepped in front of the crowd and blew it back a foot. The only thing more dominating than their raw power was their ability to blend 3 lead guitars into a harmonic treat to the ears.” - Matt Rovnan
"This week's Music Monday's post comes from Philadelphia's Mindless Hope.
Mindless Hope are a killer 5 man, progressive instrumental metal band. Their first album is called Verbatim and this is the first cut.
An Antikythera Mechanism is an ancient analog computer that is thought to have calculated astronomical motions with incredible accuracy and precision considering it is 2100 years old. Modern science would not achieve similar mechanical precision until the late 14th century when clocks began to be built with similar precision.
Just like the ancient and mysterious Antikythera, this track's constant meter and precision is a demonstration of total mastery. The guitar distortion is a perfect blend of low and high end rumble and it sounds like the chug of 50 steam engines combined with the wail of Joe Satriani's evil children." - ColdPlaySucks.com
