Mike Stanley of MSB possess the wry wit and charm needed to command an audiences intrigue and interest without theatrics or watered down lyrics. Mike weaves melody and verse effortlessly, with songwriting that doesn't demand to be drunkenly chanted at the first strum of a chord, instead it resonates and sticks with you long after the gear is packed up.
Clever, but never pandering in songwriting or delivery, while staying on the forefront of the ever evolving sound that comprises the Americana scene, MSB has shared the stage with Turnpike, Six Market, Reckless Kelly, and Sons of the Desert (Womack Brothers), it's a progressive sound but not for the sake of being edgy.
Band of brothers? As with every successful grouping, you sense they are close enough to bicker among themselves but like siblings, there's an unspoken sense of unity. They read each other well, no playing over one another or competing for attention. It's an understated contribution of each instrumentalist, as well as lead vocals, that causes you to first sit up and take notice, then to sit back and just be a part of the experience that is the Mike Stanley Band
