Funky soulstress brings intensity and energy to the standards while combining pop, blues, and jazz flavors in her original music.
Melody La Rue has toured the country with her own original band playing nightclubs, casinos, and opening for national acts such as Caroline Dawn Johnson, Saving Jane, and Ian Moore. She has shared stages with members from the Nymphs and Canadian super-talent Kinnie Starr. Her performances at the Hyperactive Music Festival gathered her critical aclaim from Creed and Puddle of Mudd producer John Kurzweg and she finished 2nd place out of over 200 entries in the Sisters Folk Festival's David Carter Memorial Songwriting contest. Her music has been featured on NPR, Dessert Highway radio, and the FTM podcast network.
