A few weeks ago we had Melissa Brooke in as a guest for the 98.3 KORA “Parking Lot Series,” where fresh talents are invited to showcase an original Country Music performance. This video is then produced and featured for listeners on all social media platforms and on-air for an entire week. In this case, Melissa shared an acoustic performance of her new radio single, "Beast." We found the song to be captivating, and relatable. While in the studio, Melissa proved to be as authentic as her writing style. She is an artist who is familiar with sharing personal experiences through a unique writing technique. As a radio personality, it's not often that someone can match my energy. Not only could Melissa fill a room full of charisma, but becomes an outstanding source of laughter and full-blown entertainment in any size venue. She gives both the impressions of "girl-next-door/ long lost friend" and "celebrity" in the best way possible.

Melissa Brooke came by our studio a couple of years ago to play and visit. I've been in the biz for a bit and have had many artists in the studio. You know that you know when you meet a true artist and Melissa surely is. I love the smokey, plaintiff passion in her singing and songwriting. Her soul longs for justice for our world and her voice and music are the conduit of that message. She is an honest and engaging performer who points her audience to remember to enjoy what we have and not waste our finite moments longing for past or future. Her coastal roots run deep and her heart is rooted in the ocean. We love and appreciate her so much.

Melissa Brooke performs in my bar several times throughout the year. She is a very talented artist and captures the ears of my patrons every time she steps on stage. She can sing a wide range of genres and I personally enjoy and request songs from every genre and her voice is able to make each of these songs her own. The crowd is always mesmerized with the tremendous energy and allurement she possesses. Her talent extends from her voice, to her unique songwriting skills. My patrons love to hear her original handcrafted songs accompanied with her guitar for a more intimate experience. She is a true entertainer that continues to surprise me with every performance.

I have known Melissa for over 10 years. She has been performing at multiple businesses of mine over the years. She’s always the first musician I called when i needed live music at one of my venues. Melissa is always on time, she always showed up and gave 100%. She played multiple genres and multiple eras of music, and is great at all of them. All ages love her, my customers always came back to watch her perform. She is definitely Corpus Christi’s best musician in my opinion.
Without a doubt i absolutely recommend Melissa Brooke!

Getting one song from your debut album to land in the Top 50 is as difficult a task as it comes, but to have seven songs do it is incredible! That’s exactly what Melissa Brooke did, though, when she charted seven songs from her debut album Texas Rubye at Texas Radio.
With all eyes on her now, Brooke is currently riding high on the Top 15 success of her latest single “Let Me Breathe,” a song which explores the up and down emotions of a relationship going through the on again/off again cycle.
Leaning against a very modern tinged, tempo driven melody, Brooke utilizes the depth of her vocals to deliver the opening verse which sings instantly of contrasting emotions: “starts with a kiss, ends up in pain” and “you say it’s alright, but I know we’re gonna crash down.”
This is all expertly designed to drive you to the chorus, which elevates the entire song to a sing-along level when Brooke demonstrates that she clearly understands it’s time to get off the rollercoaster: “I don’t want you to be the first thing on my mind,” “I don’t want to cry when I hear your name and feel that bullet in my heart again,” “it’s time to let me go – let me breathe.”
As the song presses forward, Brooke continues to unravel this realization as she sings in the second verse of how she sees now that their love was never bulletproof.
Spliced between the modern kissed melody and Brooke’s outstanding vocal delivery, sits a guitar shred through the bridge that rips in a way that is reminiscent of the hard rock of the 1980’s bringing an unexpected, though very cool and edgy dynamic, to the song.
Brooke has experienced incredible chart success in Texas with her career so far, but “Let Me Breathe” presents a song that gives her the strong possibility of crossing over and experiencing national market attention.

The Melissa Brooke Band is unlike any other in the Texas Country music industry. Melissa isn’t your average ballad singer, in fact she keeps up very well with the boys. After playing and hitting the road with her band at 19 years old, Melissa was beginning to figure out who she was as an artist and as an entertainer.
Her first album “Texas Rubye” had 7 singles go to the Texas Regional Radio Charts and every single one charted in the top 50. She has shared the stage with many of her fellow artists such as Pat Green, Bri Bagwell, Cody Johnson, Josh Abbott, and many more. She has played all across Texas as well as Traveled to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, California and even played the NFR in Las Vegas.
She took some time off from releasing music to focus on her writing and rebuilding her brand. She is an island girl with a strong history of Classic Rock raising her and growing her love of music. With her mixture of Country and Rock and an in fusion of Island style grooves, Melissa’s new music is better than ever. Her previous single “Beast” hit the top 20’s on the Texas Regional Radio Charts and her latest single “Let Me Breathe” broke the Top 10! Making it her first but certainly not her last while currently climbing with most radio personalities saying she’s changing the dynamic for the women altogether.
Melissa Brooke Band shows give everyone something to look forward to, no matter the audience. She of course has her originals, but she surprises audiences with variety of Classic Country, Classic Rock, and even some Blues in her sets. Your patrons and staff alike will love MBB, you can’t go wrong with the Melissa Brooke Experience.
