Bio
Marliii is a multi-faceted vocalist, instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and (sometimes) DJ living in NYC, and is soon to be moving to San Diego. Marliii has been playing guitar for 15 years, and plays other instruments such as the mandolin, keys/synths, bass guitar and ukulele. Marliii has been writing and recording original music around various NY studios and has performed at events such as Bamboozle Music Festival (Asbury Park, NJ), the Long Island Famous Food Festival and NOS Alive (Lisbon, Portugal).
Marliii earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Public Relations from Hofstra University, and during this point in time was the Programming Director of Music at 88.7 FM WRHU-NYC. She learned how to produce her own music and earned awards from the National Association of Music Merchants and the HARMAN JBL (with thanks to 1,000 Dreams Fund’s #NewFaceinTech program). These milestones gave Marliii the opportunity to amplify her home recording studio, and led to the creation of Marliii’s debut EP Awake & i.
Marliii continues to advocate for more diversity and inclusion in STEAM (with the A standing for the Arts), while empowering new musicians as an independent music lesson instructor by providing insight around the science, tech, engineering and mathematics of music/sound with focal points of guitar, piano and voice.
Marliii also has a corporate day-job in the SaaS cloud/CRM tech industry, and is integrating her passions for tech and music with an upcoming performance at Dreamforce 2022, headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and opening for Portugal. The Man. During her sets, Marliii incorporates original tracks and classic covers and sometimes explores elements of rock/jam, jazz, folk, blues, and EDM.
