Marco Uno

Marco Uno (Alias's: Oon, Southampton. / May 27, 1991 - 24) is an emerging Gary, Indiana born emcee who possesses an infrequent proficiency for lyricism and complexity. Marco is best known/favored for his colorful, expressive delivery, smooth flow, and repetitive use of personification and double entendres.
"Gary has always been one of THOSE places to me. Because people FROM Gary look at Gary as "not enough", NOTHING even, but they stay there like there's no other choice. I guess my point is, there must be something about it, other than the fact it's home. People from everywhere else look at Gary like it's not as dangerous as Gary natives make it seem, like it's a front, it's where the Jackson's are from, and it's full of Chicagoan wannabe's. I look at it like it's my inspiration, because it's a reflection of me, a big mirror..."ain't shit", but so capable, which is fitting. I believe in Gary because Gary made me. I spent the first 9 years of my life on the west side in Oak Knolls, but did most of my growing in Glen Park, on the east side. Grew up on 36th and Maryland St. with my mom, brothers and sister..that is without a doubt my home. I've always been one of my own TOP inspirations to be honest, along with the artists I surrounded myself with. There's nothing that could make me want success as much as myself and those artists. NOTHING. But I can say, prior to losing my little brother, I was a completely different rapper with completely different subject matter. He is also one of my biggest inspirations."
Marco's latest project "Jamari...", sometimes titled "Jamari Tape" (named after his deceased younger brother) was released in December of 2014 and was produced by a number of talented names he discovered through Soundcloud. Inspired, not just generally by his brother, but by the thought of failing to teach, appreciate, and cherish a younger sibling. The mixtape features only one artist, Saintman (who is Marco's older brother and also an emerging artist from Gary, IN). The body of work is scheduled for re-release in December of 2015 along with 4 additional tracks and his debut music video to "Crazy" directed by George! Films.
He is also preparing to release his first professional, exclusive body of work titled "J.oon.teenth" in June of 2016 with a number of acclaimed underground acts coming up in discussion. The album will be released independently through Marco's company "Lil'Africa" and will be available on iTunes amongst many other platforms. - Devaughn Sims
