Dreaming Bull
No Use
(Self-Released)
If ever there was a call to stand up and praise the blues, it is for Dreaming Bull’s debut ‘No Use.’ Equal parts Delta blues and Southern gospel with a little New Orleans swagger, this LA-based band feels the spirit of Ray Charles, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Professor Longhair running through their veins on these 11 tracks.
Comprised of Gabe Rowland (from Northeast LA) and Nic Capelle (from Western Australia), the two are hardly newbies on the scene. They met “on an ice-cold walk down Irving Park in Chicago,” and shared similar influences. As a drummer, Rowland has backed John Cale and Moby and tasted a bit of major label success with his own bands Momma Stud (Virgin) and The Peak Show (Atlantic), he has also worked extensively with Beastie Boys producer Mario C. At just 20 years of age, Capelle’s band won an international talent search and took his band on a widespread tours across Europe.
The band name Dreaming Bull may not have sparked any waves in your memory, but if you are a regular television watcher, odds are you have heard their music. The title track to the new album was featured on the season finale of USA’s Suits, while “Dirty Girl” was heard on FX’s Sons of Anarchy.
Labeling Dreaming Bull as a gospel blues band is just scratching the surface. Sure, those two genres are the foundation for their music, but there are also elements on Hendrix psychedelic wah-wah pedal (“The Spell”), New York beats (“No Use”) and a little funk to get your junk moving (“Hippie Hobo,” “Boogaloo”).
Dreaming Bull’s ‘No Use’ is a beastly concoction of jams sure to titillate and make you swing. There is a dire need for something fresh and unique in the music industry right now and Dreaming Bull delivers. - Troy Michael/Innocent Words Magazine
DreamingBull are a swingin’ rock band that can turn air into cottage cheese! Well calculated they’ve successfully created the conduit between Rock and Roll and black gospel driven blues. Their music grabs the devil by the jugular and demands him to share in some of his own pain. DreamingBull have taken a virtual step backwards in order to take a musical leap forward. Drummer and L.A. native Gabe Rowland told Rock Bands of L.A. com.. “Recular pour mieux sauter… We try to live in the NOW but remain on a constant honeymoon with vintage gospel and lost fucked soul tracks. We agreed on very specific parameters and do our best to remain loyal to those”. They don’t sound like other bands with a drummer and guitarist… It’s a gang bang of Gospel-delic meets Pscho-Chain Gang meets Bump City. This is what makes DreamingBull so fuckin’ cool. The zygote of the band consists of Aussie native Nic Capelle on guitars / vocals and Gabe Rowland at drums. More on the link........ - rockbandsofla.com
Dreaming Bull is what happens when two life-long musicians collide in a psychedelic revival of gospel and old time blues… and it’s awesome! Collaborators Nic Capelle and Gabe Rowland, along with the help of Matt Littell, Kristen Rowland and Natalie Capelle have just released their self-titled debut full-length and it’s been getting a lot of attention and play in places like USA’s Suits, FX’s Sons of Anarchy – and our playlist.
What Nic, Gabe and the DB crew deliver is raw, jump-out-of-your-seat rock and roll. It’s stripped down, dressed back up and electri-fried. Both Nic and Gabe boast long roads behind them, so the music they make here is a coincidence of seasoned talent and hard-earned skill. Dreaming Bull rocks hard. It’s in your face. And it’s one of the rawest, best, toughest releases we’ve heard in a long time.
It’s all about individuality and style for Dreaming Bull. They’re doing it their own way and listening to that little voice inside them telling them to turn it up again and again. Tight and sharp, the band fires up like a giant machine, shaking the ground all around. This is one of those bands that simply cannot be denied first-tier status. Their music has earned them a place at the head of the table.
They say that bull riding is the most exciting 8 seconds in sports, and the eleven songs on Dreaming Bull’s debut album will shake you like riding a Brahmin on bath salts. So get a grip, hang on tight and enjoy the ride – it’s gonna be a good one! - rust-magazine.com

Bio
Mad Revival is based in Pasadena, and is fronted by talented Aussie lead singer / songwriter / guitarist / producer Nic Capelle. Backed by one of the illest bands: BG vocalist Natalie Capelle; Guitars/keys Ant Marks; Bass Matt Littell and Drums Macy Lucarelli. Jammed to the rafters with sweaty 60's blues, soul and gospel feel, big vocals and stomping beats will make it nearly impossible not to unleash on the dance floor like in the juke joint days of ol'.
