Lisa Kovacs

I began playin the piano when I was 7 years old. I took private lessons for 10

years and I wrote my first song at the age of 7. By age 14 I began to write music in composition form. I write all my own music and lyrics.

I currently teach piano and voice. For the past 8 years I have been taking voice 

lessons from Thomas A. Rexdale who was the past President of the NY Singing Teachers Assoc. and former Professor at NYU. I started recording music in 2003 at Shorefire Studios in Long Branch, NJ with Malik Brooks who is now working with Stevie Wonder.

I am currently preparing for an upcoming show at Iquana in NYC. Most recently I have been performing at Dillons in NYC for Billy Shepard and Judi 

Jourdan's Singer's Showcase where I was a finalist. My song "MAYBE" and 

"ITS NOT FAIR" has been played on 90.5 WBJB in NJ. Derek Kelly from EDR 

radio in Scotland was in the US and interviewed me via 40 FOOTHOLESTUDIO

.COM RADIO ON fri. October 11. I have played at a few places in New Hope, PA including John & Peters where a show was filmed for cable television and various coffee houses in NJ including Cornerstone Cafe in Freehold and Indigo Coffee House in Aberdeen. I've been a featured artist at a summer time concert event in Belmar, NJ and I've played at a black - tie affair for Cerebral Palsy. Recently I was picked to perform at a showcase for Jive and Mystry Records. I have also played at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch, NJ and The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Both places were great for original artists to perform at and I was requested to come back for another performance. Some of my biggest influences in music are Alanis Morissette, Journey , George Michael, Hall & Oates, Elton John , Prince and Sarah McLachlan. My style is a combination of pop , rock and ballads. I believe it as its own sound. 

Currently, I am working on the soundtrack for the movie "Johnny Postal" for which I am hoping to have the title song "TELL YOU'' The movie is being directed by Frank Calo.
