Born as Jalen Ladarious , Smith. on May 8, 1998 in Jackson, MS to Roderick Smith and Latasha Banks, who was then just starting to rap for the rest of his life, Lil S.M.I.F was forced to bid goodbye to his street father that died in a gunfight when he was only 7 year old. During that time, he and his mother were forced to survive by themselves in the criminal-infested city of Jackson MS.
Fortunate enough, soon afterwards Lil S.M.I.F and his mother moved out from the poverty-stricken area of Jackson to Ginger and by age 18 Lil Smif found that he had to move for a better opportunity so he moved away from his mother and moved to Georgia. By that time, Lil S.M.I.F had begun to develop his interest in hip hop and rap music.
