"Which brings us to the Let’s Drive to Alaska remix of Liphemra’s recent single, “Bandaid”, introducing a dub organ progression. The jazz element dissolves into the audio texture of an elusive specter that haunts what feels like the stage of an abandoned speakeasy. The LDTA duo of Christopher Garcia and Patrick Haag are no doubt ones to watch. " - IMPOSE MAGAZINE
Whittier, CA-based Let's Drive to Alaska is the ambient/experimental project of Christopher García, whose developed a soothing soundscape of gleaming, almost anthemic instrumentals that oscillate between delicate synth textures and spacey, melodic loops. The arrangements are minimal and hypnotic, each piece perpetuating a flutter of pulsing artificiality that digs deep into classic kosmische territory. Christopher will be playing with a full band tomorrow night at Huntington Beach's Shanghai'd Room. - Deli Magazine
Just because this club specializes in grooves of the Samba, Soul and Hip-Hop variety doesn't mean it's incapable of putting on a stellar indie show every Monday night. This week, The Commonwealth will host, among other proprietors of the indie sound, Let's Drive to Alaska. This band features semi-spooky low-key ambient soundscapes accompanied by scratchy vinyl background noises, squirrely, squelchy keyboards and softly moaning melodicas. Quite simply, big, heartfelt arrangements. — By Brandon Ferguson - OC Weekly

Bio
The electronic outfit known as Let's Drive to Alaska was created in 2004 by Christopher Garcia. The project itself was created to explore his dreams and to recreate them with sound. So it comes as no surprise that the songs themselves have a lucid, dream like quality to them. The melodies are nostalgic and ephemeral like dreams, but the of driving beats and synthesizers stick with you like a reoccurring one. In 2010 Patrick Haag took up the mantle as a full time drummer and member. Many things have changed throughout the years, but the core concepts of having a strong emphasis on electric piano and programmed beats wrapped in an analog blanket of sound remain.
