Formally Known as Authentic Snoopy
Lenny Chao$ was born in South Houston, TX later to be raised on the North side of the city.
In 2009, he began entertaining the ideas of taking Rap serious after uploading video freestyles to Facebook and receiving praise for his slick word play.
Through 2 mixtapes and a fury of inner city club/venue performances under his then stage name "Authentic Snoopy" he quickly started to gain recognition from his peers and new supporters alike.
In 2010, Chao$ began attending a weekly underground talent showcase & cypher for independent artists called "Kickback Sundays". Hosted by street wear clothing store SF2, within weeks of its creation and launch; bloggers, DJs, artists and music heads from all over the city were in attendance.
By week 3, his first participation came in the events competitive cypher which earned him mention and small praise from the city's "Houston Press" and Kickback Sunday's affiliates in attendance. By first seasons end, he solidified his place in the underground ranks with confident lyrical flows and full original songs that were a style not usual to the city's sound.
In 2011, Lenny participated in and won a highly regarded series "Best Rappers in TX" highlighted by many of Houston's uprising/established artist.
The Same year he followed with his first original production mixtape "Everything Aint Enuff" receiving underground acclaim in the city.
2012, he earned his first major opening act for Eminem's YelaWolf, releasing an EP "Early Arrival" at the concert the same night. Then landing him his first SXSW performance in Austin.
Lenny took a year off to be with his new born son, and relentlessly work on his craft of the music.
2013 came, he resumed, then changing his stage name to "Lenny Chao$" and gained the alias "Young Gawd" highlighted by his highly regarded "Foreign" street single release netting him a win at an Interscope Records Showcase in Houston. Since then, the anticipation surrounding him and his crew "Authentic" is higher then ever.
