On the back of his recent Back on my Bullshit EP, a collaboration between Kristi Yang & Ms Chin, out now on Lee Foss’ sister label South of Saturn, we welcome Kristi Yang to the takeover mix.
Miami based Zach Comisar, aka Kristi Yang, has been grabbing attention all over the place, firstly with his magnificent debut EP Genesis.exe and now this collection of off-kilter vocal house tracks.
He’s included a couple of tracks from the EP in the mix, and a couple of solo tracks as well, packed alongside tracks from the likes of Tiga, Patrick Topping, Big Miz, Kevin Over and Dennis Ferrer. - Backseat Mafia
Kristi Yang & Ms Chin join forces for the eccentric ‘Back On My Bullshit EP’ this January on South Of Saturn.
Having been first introduced via Repopulate Mars’ annual ‘Summer Jams’ compilation in 2020, Kristi Yang and Ms Chin (one of the famed ‘alien’ dancers from Repopulate Mars’ immersive events) make their debut on Lee Foss’ sister label South Of Saturn with a set of bumping and off-kilter vocal house tracks.
Across the release, Ms Chin’s sharp vocals meet Kristi Yang’s bubbling production, perfectly exemplified on lead track ‘Could Be The One’. Bouncy percussion and laser focussed synthesis wrap around Ms Chin’s stream of consciousness performance, leading the track through a series of scintillating breakdowns.
‘Back On My Bullshit’ sees the duo deliver a relentless bassline alongside jacking drums, with the occasional siren topping off what is a raucous affair. Wrapping up the EP is the restless and bumping ‘Eee Iii Aaa’ which rolls effortlessly with quirky sample slices and vocals.

Repopulate Mars’ annual Summer Jams compilation returns for 2020 with fresh cuts from the likes of Yolanda Be Cool, Tough Love and Chris Larsen.
Lee Foss’ imprint delivers 12 tracks from existing label artists like John Summit and Chris Larsen while welcoming the likes of Kristi Yang, Bedran, Rone White and ODCEE. As always with Repopulate Mars, bumping peak time house is the order of the day and the package provides enough ammunition for a summer’s worth of dancing.
From the maximal, bass-heavy and rave-infused opener, ‘In Your Arms’, from Australian duo Yolando Be Cool to the slick, paired-back roller ’Now You Know’ from Miami’s DOONS, each track here has earned its place. Vocals, hooks and melodies are as prevalent on Summer Jams as rock solid grooves, too. London’s Tough Love, John Summit & Dead Space, Andre Salmon & Eurostep, Kristi Yang and Alvaro Smart all provide anthemic and all-to-rare vocal heavy tracks which leap out of the speakers while relative newcomers BEDRAN and Rone White & Rowen Clark both toy with spoken vocal samples to great effect. The heavier cuts on Summer Jams, like Piem’s thundering ‘Absolutely’ and ODCEE’s ‘Fila’ provide trackier vibes for heads-down moments but, as usual for Repopulate Mars, do so without sacrificing any identity.
Repopulate Mars has been continually redefining what peak time house is since its inception in 2016 and its Summer Jams release for 2020 neatly encapsulates what the label is all about.

Hello Zach! How are you today? Thanks for answering these questions. Tell us more about Kristi Yang. How did you become an artist which is known as "Kristi Yang"? What is the story behind the name?
- Hello. I was super inspired one night watching Greys Anatomy and Christina Yang (one of the doctors) really stuck out to me. I feel apart of her mentally and emotionally.
How did you get to Tech House genre?
- I have always been influenced by music that I love listening to, and while living in Miami for school, I discovered my passion for different types of dance music. For the past two years tech-house has been my main focus and I love making it.
Tell us more about your life in California. How is the electronic music scene in California?
- I was born in New York and relocated to California when I was very young. Growing up in high school I got to witness the most incredible preformers when they played shows in Los Angeles. Currently, there is not too much action that goes on with events due to the current situation, but hopefully it will return to being an amazing city for house music again.
Let's talk more about your release "Everything I Need" on RIM. Please, tell us more about this track. What is the track about? How was the production process?
- I'm super excited to share this track with everyone! I made it while on the airplane leaving Miami coming to Los Angeles this past summer, and am super happy for it to be released!
What can we expect from you in the nearest future?
- In the future you can definitely expect some more music coming from me through labels like ODTech Records, South of Saturn, and Unseen Music. I also am working on a new mix series which is coming out late December. - Radio Intense
