Bio
Kotolan is a Los Angeles based alternative music group that ties in multilingual lyrics and explores sounds from around the globe...blend of art rock, soul and pop with vintage production aesthetics.
Audio/Visual artist Otto Granillo who has performed and or recorded for The Lions, Marc Anthony, Ozomatli, Jungle Fire, Sheila E and others co leads Kotolan with lead singer Junko Seki.
Junko moved from Japan to the United States on her own to take a gamble with her musical talent. Along with being a studied pianist and vocalist, she is fluent in Spanish, English and Japanese and sings in all three. Her global curiosity and social awareness has propelled her onto stages as a solo artist like the Hollywood Bowl with performances in Mexico, Japan and the US. With her Latin sounds infused with Japanese culture, her eclectic style and distinctive sultry voice enables her to captivate audiences from around the world. She dominates the stage with her undeniable voice and instrumental technique and immerses herself with the audience and leaves them mesmerized as borders break down before their eyes. She has shared the stage with the likes of Chicano icon Lalo Guerrero, Linda Ronstadt and others.
Junko and Kotolan have been sighted delivering their fiery sounds on film, television and live at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Autry Museum, Levitt Pavilion Summer Concerts, Baja California, San Francisco, The California Endowment along with many other performances along the way.
